He said the polls are how they are because pollsters are purposely seeking out Registered Republicans in the suburbs who hate Trump to interview, and oversampling them, that way they can purposely say that their party ID is not skewed toward the democrats.

This was told to him by a pollster who wishes to remain anonymous.

Then this is worse than 2016 when they were ignorant of who Trump voters were, now they're seeking out data points that provide confirmation bias.

They're gonna get roasted worse than they did after 2016.

Saying the polls are favoring Biden because a bunch of registered Republicans are voting Biden is worrisome

Polls are meant to shape public opinion, not reflect it. They are corrupt af

It's the cuck Republican types who like the Kasich's and Romneys. I think these idiots make up about 5-10% of Registered Republicans.

There are far more democrat crossovers than Republican crossovers.

How the hell do they know if someone is disgruntled with Trump? Sounds good but I do nott see how they obtain that information beforehand.

I heard it and it doesn't explain why pollsters want to be wrong.

They are lying to make the real 5% look like 10% or 15%

But why? Why do they do that? How does it help Biden for Democrats to think he’s doing better than he actually is? Wouldn’t that make democrats more complacent and less likely to go the extra mile to show up on Election Day?

Setting up a talking point to justify the results after mail in ballots harvested in historically republican districts suddenly go for Biden.

If polls are way off 2 presidential elections in a row, why would anyone ever trust them going forward? It seems like they are shooting them selves in the foot.

The 2012 polls actually underestimated Obama.

RICHIE, you and I posted this topic at the same time. I like your take too, here's mine:

Rush once again delivering awesomeness - why Biden polling well?
quote:

Conversation he had with a pollster revealed that:
- suburban women (traditionally conservative) being over-sampled
- rural conservatives being under-sampled
- rural "Reagan Democrats" under-sampled

The result...
1) they can claim the amount of Republicans being sampled is "correct" when in fact, they are over-sampling the anti-Trump electorate
2) added bonus.. they get to boost the "anti-Trump Republicans" in a sub-set of the results

I (me, not Rush) am one to be skeptical of the polls, but not as dismissive of them as some of y'all. But I can tell you that seeing Biden +5 in Ohio is all but laughable, and very-much makes me believe the above is true, because:
- Trump won Ohio in '16 by 9.5
- Obama won Ohio in '12 by 1.5
If you believe Biden has swung Ohio by 14.5 points in four years then I have a bridge to sell you!

Well, the answer to that is easy. It's fundraising. Big donors don't want to throw money down the toilet. They won't donate unless they are confident Biden will win and pay them back.

and he also said they are staying away from polling rural democrats that support Trump.

They don’t care if they get roasted as long as the suckers keep paying money.

Their problem is if they completely overplay things and get caught, like Zogby polling the Arkansas Senate race about 10 years ago. Zogby predicted sitting incumbent Blanche Lincoln would lose to a Dem primary challenger, so the Kos Kids threw money at the challenger. She won but was so depleted by the experience, financially and politically, that she got skull drug in the general election.

What do they say about Grand Juries and ham sandwiches? It's the same with Pollsters and polls. Everything is tailored to produce a result conducive with the expectation of the client.
