Cochran's days of being schmoozed everywhere he walks...are OVER. He won. So did Obama. The man may well be cursed if he appears on the street; especially as things continue the downward spiral. Thanks to the Party he has now "reached out" to.

What excuse is the TP going to have when Cochran trounces on Childers? Why would democrats put up a candidate that has a better chance of beating their candidate?

The chair of the MS democratic party is the one who emailed McDaniels this information, why is the democratic party so interested in helping mcdaniel?

I'm not concerned about the political pandering. I'm concerned about the whole idea of a GOP primary allowing Dem voters ... or vice versa. So, it allows more participation. Well, hell, let's set up a new rule in NCAA football. When LSU plays Alabama half of LSU plays must be called by the Bama coaches. And half of Bama's plays must be called by the LSU coaches.

Keep in mind... this is NOT an open primary. An open primary is when all the Dems and Reps run and everybody votes. Then there is a run off.

This is cross voting. It's stupid when either party does it because it's designed to make the opponent party elect their weakest candidate.

I think I agree with most of your analysis, except for this. I'm not sure that's exactly what happened here. It's a bizarre dynamic for sure, though.

It is bizarre, YA; we all agree on that.

It all boil down to 'follow the money'. The Dems (Blacks and Progs) vote for Cochran because he'll keep the pork coming. McDaniel...responsibly...knows it has to be moderated. So they all align against McDaniel.

And of course, Toddy's social issues wing too.

Like I said...Cochran's days of streetwalking in the limelight of everybody's adulation are done. He deserves it; he was party to the whole damn mess that folk in Tea Party mode try to address. In fact, a lot on both sides do.

McDaniel due up on Hannity...if anybody wants to hear the sour grapes.

Yes, because a group that votes 90+% for one party every election is a bunch of moderates.

Because he reached out to the 10%? You are sounding close to racist now...

And sorry to reply to myself, but the above math is pretty good for the guy who thinks 10% of black demos are progressive:

10% of 39% (ms black population) would be 3.9%. So if Thad won on black democrat participation, then he won roughly 50% of the black moderate vote. I don't find that alarming.

I wonder if Rand Paul will get attacked like this if he manages to get a significant number of Black votes.

Do you remember Rush Limbaugh's Operation Chaos back in 2008?

If he targets the black vote by playing the race card and appealing to their support for Obama, he probably will.

Are all you people this dumb?

Yes. And it was stupid. And Democrats called for prosecutions in Ohio due to their voter laws and the AG said it would be unenforceable.

Oh, it's unique, Want. Party siding with ideological political opposition to win against same-party opponent who holds views that their Party is ASSUMED to promote. Cochran has just confirmed the suspicions of many true Conservatives. The RINOS have "reached out" until the "fundamental change" is upon us.

Come on man. Considering all the Rand Paul threads you've started praising his reach-out efforts, you of all people should appreciate what Cochran did.

Not a single Rand one on me buddy; you're thinking of someone else.

But your points are solid in regard to reaching out to RESPONSIBLE Blacks. Pandering pork via Gubmint jobs...walking around money and playing the race/hate card...not so much.

Book it. Cochran has made a ton of White folk in Miss. rich; but now he's made a bunch mad. It's kinda like with our guy Edwards; he didn't do anything that was not the norm in the OLD DAYS. He was just the smoothest ever. We all loved him; till we realized just how bad it really was on legit business coming here. We let him go. Like yall should have with Cochran.

Because times have changed. Now, we gotta hold the numbers together, until high tech can kick in, and a lot of this stuff will go away.

FYI- have any of you TP voters looked at the county by county map? All McD won was the traditional Klan territories and the white flight Memphis burbs .

So there weren't ads released saying that you should vote Cochran to protect the country from people who hate Obama because he's black. I'm learning a lot.
