That's some BS right there. It really has nothing to do with the opponent being gay. Something as insignificant as that shouldn't overturn an actual vote.

Not a huge Perry fan, but he has a right to weigh in on his alma mater. Too bad the lazy narrative will be spun that he's somehow upset that a gay guy won.
I can't believe I wasted time looking this up, but it seems like it's a clear automatic disqualification per their Constitution:

SGA Constitution and Code
quote:

Campaign Reporting

(a) All candidates must submit a finance report and all receipts from campaigning on the first day of voting by 5:00 p.m. Candidates failing to comply shall be disqualified the first day of voting at 5:00 p.m
But I find it ironic some of the posters arguing against the stupidity of the decision, are also the same posters who argue "law and order" and it's essentially lawlessness if you don't enforce all laws, so if you don't like it change them.

Yet, despite the real life consequences of harmful policies, THEY take this trivial issue to disregard law and order.

Do you think if it was the other way around the other guy would be disqualified?

This cost him votes? Wouldn't just demanding he file a new finance report make more sense?

I wouldn't want to win the election this way, but I'm sure his opponent has no qualms about it. Participation trophies are all the rage these days
And here is one of the "follow the law," and "if you don't like it, change it" posters.

Well it appears they followed the law, which is an automatic disqualification for a failure to report.

Although now I know too much about A&M election regulations, and weird obsessions with class rings so maybe lawlessness would be a good thing there.

Sure, why not? As ambiguous as laws often are, that one is as clear and straightforward as it gets.

But since it's unprovable with no similar precedent of comparison, it would make a terrible legal defense, and it really has not logical basis either. I don't blame the kid for trying, but Perry looks ridiculous delving into something like that, without taking a second to look at the law.

Why not? It would be a clear disqualification, and in that case, the other student would actually have a legal case.

And this was my point. What you're saying is unprovable, since it didn't occur, nor does there appear to be any precedent to even make an argument. So you have to resort to this as your evidence:

Cmon dude this is 2017.

Well a lawyer has been hired on one side so we will figure out what comes of this in the coming months.

Sure but based on the available information, he has no case. He had a judicial hearing so he had due process so that's off the table.

And the discrimination claim is strange since he includes "racial" and both candidates are clearly white. Besides, the unless reporting finances by the specified time discriminates Christians and heterosexual, which is almost certainly not the case, then I don't see how that stands up.

Beside between the other 2 candidates (other than the eventual winner), Christian and heterosexual is probably covered and they were apparently didn't have a problem following the law.

But it is funny that it's all because of glow Sticks which seemed popular in middle school, not college.

I've done some more research across 2 A&M boards including a students only board over the past hour or so.

Looks like it's turned into quite the shitshow which is unfortunate. People from the Brooks campaign pressed 14 charges of voter intimidation which all turned out to be false. Then there are students claiming Brooks used items in his promotional video that were not reported, yet no charges from the SGA were brought against him.

Will be interesting to see how this sorts out in the following months.

Well there is a violations reporting page. It gives a spreadsheet of all reported violations, the decision, and justification. If those weren't reported, then the SGA is probably a lot like the PGA after the cards have been signed and verified. You can't see a replay of the masters a few months later and report that a previously unseen penalty occured and should be accessed.

That's great. No one ever sells their ring, so there's that.

OMlandshark sure seems like a joy to be around.

We get it. Y'all hate TAMU and wish your beloved tu was here instead. You want everyone to be "normal" and just like you. tu would fit better because they are so much more like you. Too bad y'all are stuck with us. Please forgive us.

Perry has some metrosexual homosexual tendencies himself. The fact that he went to A&M is one clue.

Is your fascination with Austin because you want to be around this?

And this?

This also?

Or?

Now we know why you love tu so much. They are just like Ole Miss.

I'm aware about preset stones.

I noticed you hadn't mentioned that you ever HAVE sold one of your jewelry items. I assure you, I have purchased and maintained insurance on several pieces of my wife's jewelry. They're all appraised at excellent value, and it's all complete bullshite. The only people who are going to pay me retail replacement value on them is the insurance company doing the appraisal.
