Rick Perry Calls Texas A&M Student Election a ‘Mockery’

Apparently "I suck dicks" is now the most important qualification for a student body leader at Texas A&M.
Rick Perry Calls Texas A&M Student Election a ‘Mockery’
quote:
Rick Perry, the former Texas governor and current United States energy secretary, says the recent presidential election was stolen.
It isn’t the legitimacy of his boss, President Trump, that Mr. Perry is calling into question. No, he has reservations about last month’s election for student body president at his alma mater, Texas A&M University.
In a piece published by The Houston Chronicle on Wednesday, Mr. Perry took the remarkable step of weighing in on the most local of politics. In it, he argues in great detail that the election of the school’s first openly gay student body president was mishandled and that the true winner was denied victory, an outcome that never would have been allowed were he not a straight, white male.
The process, overseen by the school’s Student Government Association, at best “made a mockery of due process and transparency,” Mr. Perry wrote. “At worst, the S.G.A. allowed an election to be stolen outright.”
At issue was the election of Bobby Brooks, who is reportedly set to become the school’s first openly gay student body president when he takes office next month. Mr. Perry wrote that Mr. Brooks’s victory initially made him proud, but he soon found cause for concern.
quote:
As Mr. Perry laid out, Mr. McIntosh received more votes than Mr. Brooks, according to initial results. But, after receiving a number of anonymous complaints detailing acts of voter intimidation by Mr. McIntosh and his campaign, the election commissioner, Rachel Keathley, chose to disqualify Mr. McIntosh, according to a ruling by the Judicial Court of Texas A&M. Ms. Keathley also separately disqualified Mr. McIntosh for failing to account in a finance report for glow sticks used in a campaign video.
The court, whose members are students, later cleared Mr. McIntosh of the first charge, but not on the second. Once the results were recalculated, Mr. Brooks was declared the winner.

Doesn't Perry have more important things to worry about?

He did more than buy a hat and t-shirt at Walmart. He actually graduated from aTm.

What an idiot. Why does he care about this? It would be like Trent Lott talking shite because Ole Miss voted for this girl as Homecoming Queen:
I mean, based on appearance she wouldn't be my first choice, but maybe she's actually the coolest chick on campus who doesn't give a frick. If I'm not on campus to actually know the person, who am I to judge?

We? Your boyfriend have his dick stuck in your arse?
When you become governor of a state let us know.
I'll bet Perry's name is on the distinguished alumni list. How about your name?

He's not wrong for those unfamiliar with the story.
He only "won" because the actual winner didn't report a few glow sticks they used in some video.
Only won on some weird technicality. He was selected. Those who run SGA wanted a gay SBP because they wanted that new "first" and to be able to break a "barrier,". The voters didn't give it to them, so they found an immaterial complaint to get their way. They tried to use voter fraud and intimidation and when those didn't stick they moved onto glowsticks. This is the equivalent of someone making a single sign with markers and poster board, not reporting the poster board purchase, and getting DQ'ed for it. I can guarantee that every candidate has at least some minor expenditures that were dedicated to their campaign by design and not reported, such as markers or poster board.
Expensing your campaign materials is a way to ensure that campaigns are fair and rich kids with parents who have deep pockets can't print t-shirts and pamphlets and signs and simply saturate campus with their name. The way the rules were applied here is not how they are always applied. Not every marker, piece of cardboard, outfit, piece of makeup, etc that is used in a campaign is tracked and inventoried and reported. I'm sure every campaign is guilty of leaving at least some small item unreported, and it's never been a problem. It's when they don't report $500 in t-shirts or $750 in sign printing that there's a problem. Those who run SGA were looking for a way to get their guy in, and they found it.

Remember who you are talking to? What part of Aggy do you not get?

Living in Dallas, it's that kind of shite that makes me hate your fanbase the most. At least I don't run into State people out here, but Jesus, that is just cringe worthy.

Well you know what? I think it's pretty damn cool. And I don't give a flying frick what you think.
