Does Massie care that the result could be some from the republicans electing Hakeem after too many infighting votes?

Why isn't Johnson publicly voicing the situation you claim he is in?

"I disagree with this, but this is what is best for the country today" instead of openly promoting and glorifying his stances?

You say he's doing this because he has no choice and is powerless, but his comments (and lack of comments) along with his actions say otherwise.

If this is counter to what he believes and wants, then he should say so. Otherwise, I judge a man by his actions.

If the House says we can spend X dollars and the Senate says we need Y dollars it isn't necessarily the House shutting down the government.

Nobody see this process in this way, when it's a collaborate effort of both chambers and the President and has been for a long time.

Very few people want the chaos of the classical budget process that you described, and I mean voters when I say people. They want efficiency and stability.

Who doesn't know the Senate and President are DEMs?

Well, if the House majority is not open to compromise on spending (like some of the louder Freedom Caucus members within their conference suggests is tantamount to a sin), then you own the shutdown.

I'm sure the House Majority Whip has had a lot of headaches these past 16 months.

I see it as built-in frustration at an attempt to try to get members of Congress and the Senate to work with each other.

The sausage making is ugly, but the sausage has to be made.

Now my question is to the few here, is Thomas Massie now bad?

To the few, who?

My guess the way the scoreboard looks now is the conservative wing of the Republican party continues to support Massie as an ally, and the MAGA/establishment wing of the party is setting its disdain for Massie aside on this particular matter.

I couldn't be a member of Congress. If a "Whip" came anywhere near me I would tell him to go frick himself.

That's true, too. Can't spin it as a DEM issue when the minority splinter party is hijacking the process before the larger GOP can even win.

Again, if the GOP hadn't been tanked in 2022 by abortion, the MAGA/Freedom caucus could be ignored entirely and shifting blame to the DEMs could be possible But 2022 happened, and the GOP barely has a majority.

This was done deliberately by Lindsey Graham so he and McConnell could grift by campaigning from the minority.

This is always their excuse. The democrats can do anything, but the republicans are limited in their options due to bad PR.

A government shutdown should be a major tool in the arsenal. The idea that the rules are different is only true to the extent that republicans are feckless.
