One of the things I like best about him. He won't bow down to anyone when he thinks he's right. The apologies may keep some people their job, but they are still tainted going forward.

Congressman John Lewis should finally focus on the burning and crime infested inner-cities of the U.S. I can use all the help I can get!
"Finally"???
So after a lifetime of fighting for civil rights beyond the black community, he should "finally" do something in Trump's mind? Maybe Trump should finally do a few things of his own that aren't in his self-interest before attacking John Lewis.

The Atlanta news is all over this. They went to district 5 yesterday to get totally unbiased opinions from his voters on Trumps tweet.
Leaders of the Ebenezer baptist church are meeting with the congregation this morning to discuss action. Perhaps they should focus on church and leave race baiting out of their church.

John Lewis is a prime example of the weakness of the Democratic model of governance. "Smite the shepherd and the flock will scatter"; few of those who marched with MLK remained on the political straight and narrow...because the very (victimization/Great Society) Policies that Dems implemented - and would continue - resulted in what by any other comparison would be considered Racial genocide.
It has come to the point that the next step in Progressive/John Lewis Ideological hegemony, would be full blown Statist/Redistributionist Government; I.e., "fundamental transformation". Constitution out the door, Individual Freedom and the Principle of MERITED reward according to the value of one's contribution to Society. And now all the people in those Red Counties...know the score. Won't happen without a fight. And it will be Lewis and his BLM SJWs that start it.
John Lewis can either get on board with real progress or make a fool of himself and sacrifice what's left of his (former) reputation. Hell, I don't think the man ever had a vision like King; he acted out of emotion and jumped in. If so, he'd still have it...and wouldn't be mumbling purely racist/tribalist bs and expecting all concerned to bow to his (supposed) status as a societal leader.
Lead, follow or get out of the way.

Trump is such an emotional child. The man can't take the smallest bit of criticism.

Lewis quit giving a shite about the black community outside of token gestures the moment he got elected to Congress in 1986.

Lewis is paid to be a Congressman, period, and ought to conduct himself accordingly.
No one doubts nor diminishes his role in the civil rights movement but that was the catalyst to Congress and not vice versa

He's going to get $1 per year for the headaches upcoming. I don't think you have much room to bitch about that.

TotesMcGotes. So miserable
Posted on 1/15/17 at 9:53 am to TotesMcGotes
Simple...
Lewis was interviewed because, and gave his opinion as, a US Congressman from GA.
Trump's response(s) are as to his record as a Representative.
