Don't put on the uniform if you can't handle the consequences.

Don't say dumb shite when you know absolutely nothing about the damage a drunk, drugged or deranged person can do with an itty bitty knife blade.

quote:

I suppose that comes down to a difference of opinion on what the responsibilities of LEO's, but I just don't see how you can watch that video and support that.

I don't care if a Cop has a family to go home to, we all do. You know what you signed up for by putting on the badge.

They handled their responsibility as LEO's as they should have. Sometimes what police MUST do is ugly. I suppose you think they should have gambled the lives of the surrounding citizens by fighting hand to hand and risk getting shanked. Then allowed this guy access to their duty weapon. It's a stretch but not as much of a stretch as the bullshite you've been saying.

quote:

You didn't watch the video. Closing fast? Less than one second? What?

You're knowledge of what a person can survive and how the body reacts to a gunshot obviously comes from watching Hollywood movies. Bullets don't have the same effect as laser guns, and unless there's significant damage to the central nervous system in the right spot the person is still a threat until they lose too much blood and expire. People can and have walked right through gunshots and not even know they were hit.

quote:

Cops should be here to save lives, not take them. A man with a small knife SHOULD BE SO EASY to take down with two people who are supposedly 'trained' for situations like these.

You ever fought a crazy person? I'm talking about a really crazy person. They usually don't fight like your typical bar room hooligan. The officers were trained for this type of situation and they did exactly what they were supposed to do. I'm sorry you don't have the capability to open your mind to other perspectives.

quote:

Are they not trained in hand to hand combat? Two LEO's can't control a single arm on this guy? No Tazers? No Mace?

Yes. Police are trained in hand to hand combat. Because you are so ignorant in situations of violent confrontation, you fail to realize that if one side has a knife, it is no longer hand to hand combat. Tazers are a gamble. A truly crazy person laughs at mace.

quote:

Unless he throws a one in a million slash across this guys jugular, while leaping 5 yards from that ledge, the cops would've been absolutely fricking fine.

Two bullets? Maybe.

Nine? No. fricking. Way.

In some ways a knife is more dangerous than a firearm. A blade will go right through a bullet proof vest.

I'd like you to do a little test. See how long it takes you to run to an object twenty feet away full speed. Then google fatality rates of gunshot wounds. If you have the capability, imagine yourself in the officers situation. If you would do anything different from what they did, you're mother would be upset with you. Nine rounds ain't shite for someone to still be alive and have bad intentions during a 20 foot race.

It's obvious you have some police hate. That's your business, but you'd be better off criticizing police when they actually do something wrong. Im critical of a lot of things officers do. If you want someone or something to blame for this situation you'd be better off blaming the lack of mental health care available for individuals like this guy.
