God could have very well picked the pope. That doesn't mean the words of the pope are God's. It could very well mean that God is exposing the idol worship of the catholic church

Ludicrous critique, in reference to the issue argued. Though the Pope tows the line that he must, given his Position. That aside, should this Board have been on board with past Popes who winked and nodded and enabled rampant pedophilia/child abuse of the worst sort? The Church is damn lucky a lot of fathers didn't take justice into their own hands. I might have for sure.

BTW, the Catholic Church, with all it's tedious dogma, ritualism and shortcomings (as with all Religious Institutions) will never be more perfect than the people who create and uphold them. That truth has little to do nor should it reflect poorly upon the PRINCIPLES which Religion is created to serve.

I do assume that one day, even Islam will realize - like God does - that people can not be violently COERCED into honest, educated and freely-chosen Belief. Herding cats. Or worse...herding slaves. It's is Man's moral duty to test himself, know himself...and exercise the Knowledge therein. IMO.
