Trump is accurate here. He just says the debt went down.

No. He didn't 'just say it'. He's bent out of shape because more news media didn't cover it.

Was he really that interested in an irrelevant technicality? Or was he trying to make it look like he was responsible for lowering the federal debt?

Yeah man, he just said it. Long 4 years for you.

It's not irrelevant at all for those of us that care about the debt. Some of us worry about our children's future. If the debt would have gone up, the media would blame trump and you wouldn't give a damn about technicalities.

The issue isn't that they provided context. It's that they gave it a mostly false rating based on context when the claim was literally and totally true. Rate it true and then caveat the shite out of it.

All of this.

FWIW the federal government hasn't passed a budget since the 2009 stimulus. We've been running on CRs ever since.

We haven't passed a budget since 2009.

Some of us voted for a fiscal conservative in the primary who has a record of balancing the federal budget and his state budget.Others voted for a rodeo clown.

That's why I voted for people who know what they are doing. You voted for Trump for the lulz....so he could "stick it to the media"....which does nothing to "make things work".

Perhaps he's vested in positive stories being reported to spur investments and the economy.

Ever notice how Wall Street reacts to a single positive or negative announcement?

Wasn't politifact implicated in the Wikileaks?

Trump can do nothing right for you.

I love how angry you get. Enjoy the next 4 years. I hope you continue to post whiny comments daily.

I don't think anyone voted for trump to "stick it to the media", however there are volumes of examples that the media collaborates with the left, which made them lose credibility on anything they reported on.

Now the significance of the stat is questionable but to call the statement false is false.

Which is why they labeled it "Mostly False", the implication is that somehow this is due to his performance since taking office, which is completely false. Context matters...

Is Trump an idiot for believing that stat, or does he take you for an idiot? Which is it? You get to pick, but it has to be one or the other.

Wait. A want still hadn't acknowledged he's wrong on this?

Damn man. This is one seriously out of control melt.

A once decent poster appears permanently off the rails

Here you go golden. So instead of trying to create fake news just post to the article.

It cites the entire tweet and explains why it is rated mostly false (because it is).

Sad effort man, very sad. We have the worst fake news posters, don't we folks. Bad hombres.

You do realize he operating off the budget from the Obama admin, right?

Also, this was covered yesterday. The stat is absolutely meaningless. Obama "reduced the debt by billionions" also many, many times by that metric. It's worthless.
Oh? You know you should probably check before you throw something like that out, because some a-hole who likes numbers is going to check.

Just to make you look like a moron, cause that's fun.

Many, many billions. I'll make that 10. Double digits is many right?

Times during Barrack Hussein Obama's reign it that happened.

2009 - 0
2010 - 0
2011 - 0
2012 - 0

Through his first term, 0 times "many, many billions" Couple small ones, 1 less than a billion, one 2 billion on the other. On to his 2nd term.

2013 -1
Here we go, April was 44 billion. Only took 4 years and change. It was the only one.
2014 - 2, 27 and 46
2015 - 0
2016 - 1, 21

A few small ones less than a billion scattered through that, but your many times, many billions falls way short. 4 out of 96, that's a pretty shitty average. But what do you expect from a guy who presided over a 9 trillion and change addition?
