Nah that's just the water component of the bodily fluids. When blood separates or congeals, especially on a carpet like that, then the solids will tend to stay on top of the carpet while the fluids continue to seep.

He would have to reload every 15 seconds with those magazines. Unless someone was loading and handing him a new weapon. Could be wrong, but I don't remember hearing much of a pause in the gunfire.
