Honestly I'd be just as pissed off if they were doing something to protest before or after it. I just don't want politics in sports. Especially when no one in the media will ever entertain the opposing viewpoints

The protest were slowly fading away until Trump decided to bring it back to the forefront.

I keep seeing people bring up dumb hypotheticals that have them protesting in different ways or people protesting something else by kneeling for the anthem. Our reaction isn't just because they are disrespecting our nation. It's a buildup from having an agenda shoved down our throats for 8 years while lacking the voice to fight back because of the media bias. We have that voice now and it's name is Donald J. Trump.

That just makes it more pathetic. You basically just said you will follow every word of Trump, whether you agree with the cause or not.

Not really. I said Trump knows what we're thinking and says it.

Of course it isn't. They're in the right on this.

They're not. There are a handful of incidents cited, and almost all of them are referenced using completely inaccurate accounts

quote:

So...you agree with me?

I do agree with you that some of the people involved probably have no intention of disrespecting the flag, sure

quote:

How will damaging those things result in fewer people being killed by the police - their ideological aims?

Haha, you know it's bullshite. You're among them. Healthcare coverage isn't the goal because you feel bad for people without - consolidation of power in government is the goal. Environmental protection isn't the goal - reduction of corporate (capitalistic) influence in our society is the goal.

Reducing police shootings isn't the goal for folks like you, the goal is to get people past the idea that police and military and saluting the flag are honorable things. They're institutions of power for conservatives and white people that need to be torn down. The founders aren't worth revering, and because of that, neither are the documents they drafted, etc.

Trumps election = "a whitelash"
Kneeling= a "blacklash"
Anger about kneeling= another whitelash

And on it goes, the winners are the media and the swamp keeping division

The problem is they persuade those who arent confident in their beliefs. I'm not worried about myself. I'm worried about uneducated voters.

The uneducated "voters" really don't vote. It's the educated ones on both sides that promote things and affect the culture and they go t polls to elect those candidates that best reflect their views on things. Personally I could not care less what a celebutard or athlete has to say about anything.

As to the players taking a knee or siting.....I'll stand for the anthem, but I don't spend my money to go to a football game to have my nationalism or patriotism affirmed by the players on the field .

Look, if you get up in a hardass professional football players face, call them out, just given the mindset of these guys they are going to throw it back at you...that is what happened last weekend...we should have ignored it and I'll bet that it would have disappeared within two weeks. If Trump had not opened his mouth on something that was extremely isolated that would have been better.

He figured it was time to throw his base some raw meat....I guess many of you were protein deprived

Irrelevant. Picked the wrong protest instrument and are now doubling down on stupid and looking foolish. Please continue though.

Correct. It's not about the anthem. It's not even about DJT. It's about Kaepernick's clothing choices during his origin protests and what they mean for society.

Well, for me it’s 2 things
1. Kneeling for an illogical & imaginary reason. If they’re reason had any merit, I might listen, despite...
2. The belief that they have the “right” to do it. They don’t, they’ve been given permission to

And then there’s the bullshite retort that “were’re not disrespecting the flag, we’re showing our support for what Kaep started”

What Kaep really said has been completely lost in this whole thing by the MSM. Conveniently

Refresher...
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,"

The flag & country weren’t just collateral damage, they were the direct target.

Voicing? Sure. A week long meltdown...pretty sad for grown men. Many of you over 40 and 50 acting like little kids.

There are two sides to that coin. I don't think it's very rational to complain about the response when the disrespect and protest have been going on for more than a year now.
