You seem like putting words in to my mouth, and are under an assumption that I'm a conservative. I'm not, and you can quit with the straw men.

Now that that's out of the way, to address the above:

Of course I don't expect someone's personal values to cease based on an election. But what I DO expect is for a person to respect the political process and not pledge to "resist" the winner.

I did not agree with many of Obama's policies, but never in a million fricking years would I advocate "resisting" those policies. Because I'm not a fricking child.

You seem to have a very dramatic interpretation of the word resist.

If you dont like a policy of a particular elected official, you send a letter, that is an active type of resistance. You talk to your congressman, about legislative matters that are opposed to the President. These are certainly ways to resist the agenda of the President and are clearly effective ways to speak out within the framework of our democracy.

This isn't surprising...Patagonia has long been a very outspoken "green" company.

No, I don't. But Rose and other progressives certainly do.

It just seems like a rather kneejerk "green" reaction to me, though, unless someone can outline the specific grievance here as to what they are "resisting."

And I really love National Parks.

Patagonia makes some of the toughest clothing.
I'm disappointed but not really surprised.

Eeeesh, that's not what shareholders want to read with their coffee.

If privately held, I don't remotely care.

I'm not known as a bleeding heart liberal. This seems to be a principled stance on the Bears Ears National Monument in Utah. Obama used his proclamation power to make it a monument in December 2016. This is a wildly unpopular position in Utah. There was expropriation as well as significant curtailment of permissible activities. The Utes themselves view the place as having religious and spiritual significance. It's complicated, but all Trump is doing is following campaign promises to undo stuff that Obama did by fiat.

Patagonia is one of those "private 'for benefit'" corporations and the stance on Bears Ears isn't new.

10 responses and not 1 addressing the actual issue the CEO is against, which is selling off federal park land to private parties.

You didn't address the actual issue either. Big fail on you.

Like the people in North Carolina and Tennessee who lived in the Smokey Mountains. (1934 816 square miles)

Like the people who lived in what is now Shenandoah National

Yeah, those were very controversial at the time they were done. What's your point?

No, it's not. A for-profit company should not be taking a political stance no matter which side they fall on. The company exists to produce a product and sell that product to the consumer. And that's it.

Ughhh... no. As long as it's legal, they can whatever TF the owners want, brother.

Is this a company that you own?

I never said it's wasn't legal. I said from a business standpoint they shouldn't be doing it.
