Rubio would have won Nevada and Colorado easily

probably would have lost Michigan, Wisconsin & Pennsylvania

So he would have likely won with 275 - 279 EC votes (NH) - he MIGHT have been able to pick off NM for 284 EC votes

Rubio was the "safe choice" - instead, we now have "the rust belt" as states in play for real moving forward

nobody expected or predicted that (except Ann Coulter - what a doll)

everything worked out & we are better off for it; but man was it scary coming into the election

I understand the Dem angst = losing was like watching a big 6 SEC team lose to LA Monroe - shocking, but with much higher stakes...

Valid. We will never know but the obvious irony is Trump won convincingly in spite of all odds being against him including members of his own party.

how much easier does it get than a republican clearing 300 in the EV?

Rubio/jeb couldn't win the rust belt.

Kasisch probably wins Ohio and Penn but he can't bring florida along.

Also how do Rubio,Jebra, Kasich or whoever handle the leftist media attack on every word? they don't, history shows that traditional republicans have folded to the left when it attacks.

They also didn't have Trumps rally and ground game. It wasn't traditional but it worked really well. None of them could have pulled that off.

This is like the stupid people that believe somehow bernie would beat Trump due to polls. The polls were clearly wrong, and they forget things like Bernie never had to stand up to Trump attacks and ground game.

he got over 300 in the EC and won states that dems believed were firewall states.

It was extremely smart by Trump. FWIW I think if we did something stupid like allowed popular vote to decide then Trump would have ended up winning that as well. He had a targeted strategy on how he could win. He took states that no one ever imagined were in play.

Once illegals votes get thrown out Trump would clear the popular vote as well.

Several.

e.g.,

If you honestly hold that the GOP must win Michigan/Wisconsin in the future, I don't know what to tell you.

did he win? no he didn't. Rubio wasn't going to win Ohio or any state in the rust belt unless he had Kasich with him.

If Kasich wasn't busy being a whiney bitch he could have been the vp. I thought he would be a good bridge and seal down ohio but we didn't need him.

He won by 100k, total, in those states. This election was more about how terrible the candidates were. The only surprise is that Republicans were able to stomach theirs more than the Democrats.

What? He needs a hail mary at this point. Absolutely no more scandals, staying the frick off twitter, and completely crushing the debate and more hillary bad news. Two of those are in his control, the other two are beyond his control and he can just pray for those to happen. Trump having a 30% chance to win the election is beyond generous right now.

Of course not, but he didn't have the fortune of Hillary Clinton, did he?

its much better owning the rust belt. We lock that in and we can continue to pound the dems over and over.

Then again this is politics and they swing wildy every 8 years. A few years ago, maybe even months we were told republicans would never win the executive branch again.

The good news for the right is that the left isn't coming to the center to try and recapture the lost workers of the rust belt. They are doubling down on the coastal strategy and SJW strategy. Its stupidity since they already run the east and west coast.

Trump's ground game was basically 10 guys and a twitter account.

Why do you think that will happen. Democrats will not run Hillary Clinton again, and holding out hope for another election like this is naive.

well half the republican party tried to lose it. Trump beat the dems and the republicans.

Which leads us to the issue of having 17 fricking people running and the circus of a mini and regular debate.

The republicans need to paid down faster and more brutal. The longer you let arse clowns with 2 and 3 percent of the vote hang around the more divided the party becomes.

We will see how much he won by after the illegal votes are taken out. We all know the dems were doing their usual voter fraud but it wasn't enough.

and it worked didn't it? Trump ran an extremely efficient campaign and beat the dems, the media and half his own party.

Let's get this straight. You honestly think Rubio would have underperformed Romney in Ohio by 350,000 votes? Seriously? Are you sane?

do you see what they are doing? they are going more extreme. So they will run someone worse than Hilliary and they have lost the rust belt dem. Rather they turn out and vote R or stay home they aren't voting D as long as they keep going more SJW.

Link? A lot of those votes went to Trump, too.
