And now I know, when I'm riding the DC Metro at 5:00pm, what all of those bureaucrats sitting next to me have been doing all day.
Money well spent, dontchathink?

Extra codes to enter into a field! Oh noes!!!

So why was the original US implementation date prior to moving back several times, 2009?

Just fudge the codes the way you do now and charge medicare extra for your services. An extra day in the hospital, a few unnecessary tests and you'll be well compensated for your services. You know how to game the system, just do it.
And then get thrown in jail for Medicare fraud? Actually for inpatient billing the hospital is reimbursed by DRG's, meaning one lump sum for what should cover a hospital stay for the hospitalized diagnosis. Extra days and extra procedures typically end up causing you to lose money. The name of the game is to discharge asap but do a good enough job so they are not readmitted within 30 days cause the readmission isnt covered

What a moronic statement. Medicare audits are some of the most thorough in the business. Getting caught commiting Medicare fraud comes with serious jail time.

Implementation of ICD-10 has absolutely nothing to do with Obamacare but that hasn't stopped conservatives from braying that lie to anyone who will listen.
People want to believe.

quote:It's gotten very bad. The Obama Exchanges are a defacto expansion of Medicaid in terms of reimbursements. Readmission fines have gotten absurd. Was talking with hospital administration recently. CMS is trying to nail them for readmissions d/t women coming to L&D in false labor and being d/c'd after brief observation, then admitted in <30d for delivery. Lot of uncertainty.
I would have had to implement the changes for the hospital

In name alone it's not, but all the changes and additions to it since 2008 is all this administrations doing. When my wife first started prepping for it years ago it wasn't that bad. She has had to go back and take classes multiple times because it's changed and grown so much. It resembles the original ICD-10 now in name only.

quote:The name is all these guys are going on. The international ICD-10, which uses fewer codes than the US version of ICD-9 did, is what they are referring to. It is less than 1/5th as complicated as the monstrosity Obama & Co have implemented.

It's one thing to be confused because of nomenclature initially. It is another entirely to keep posting the same BS after the error has been thoroughly pointed out.

Exactly. My wife probably knows as much about ICD-10 as anybody in Louisiana and everything I'm posting in this thread is coming from her, these numbnuts would still tell her she's wrong.

Sounds like a war on women to me. Obama needs a lesson in biology.
