all of his policies carry tremendous disapproval numbers. the only number that's good is his approval rating

and that's because people feel as if it may be racist to give him the thumbs down or that by doing so they may be perceived as racist

you saw this play out just 3 weeks ago. people said they weren't voting for trump...they voted for trump

The 2010 midterms crippled that party as a whole for probably a generation.

It destroyed whatever right flank remained in the party and the ones who remained decided that the problem was that they didn't lurch far enough to the left.

They may have accomplished their goal by implementing Obama's agenda but it won't last long under a Trump presidency with GOP majorities.

Hell, a lot of it is backing off now in preparation for the Trump presidency.

Once the historians get past the symbolic nature of his presidency, his true legacy will be that he presided over the annihilation of his own party.
stagnant economic growth, a higher percentage of discouraged workers than ever before, a piece of shite law that is about to be repealed with a quickness, a foreign policy failure in every regard...all while stoking racial and cultural division within the country.

he's the first black president, and he went into Pakistan to kill bin laden. those are the only good things I can say about his presidency.

The former was the only reason he got elected and the latter was pretty much done by Leon Panetta in spite of his dithering about the operation.

I heard it on public TV, a Dem said President Obama was good at one thing and that was getting himself elected and reelected. That's it.

yeah but republicans in the senate are spineless and a 51-49 majority doesn't make the democrats bystanders in the senate

it's really just low expectations but he said while campaigning in the primaries and in the general that if Osama bin laden was found to be in Pakistan...he wouldn't ask, he'd give the ok to go in and put a bullet in his head.

most everyone dodged that question, he didn't an he was a man of his word. I think he fricked it up by giving him dignity. they should have photographed and then incinerated the body and flushed him down the toilet.

I think it all goes back to them ramming O-care down our throats. frick the democrat party.

As someone else mentioned, Republicans controlled the narrative by calling it Obamacare, and literally every increase in healthcare since it's passage is blamed on Obama. That was an ingenious move.

Obamacare is a terrible law but it is also part of a much bigger issue with rising healthcare costs in general. Once the name Obamacare took off, it shouldered the brunt of complaints about every healthcare issue, whether it was specific to Obamacare or not.

Well done Rs.

Honestly, I don't think it is primarily Barry's fault. It is Bill and Hillary Clinton's. They sabotaged their own party and made sure that no other star rose from the party to challenge someone as thoroughly loathesome as herself. The only man who got past this was Barrack Obama. Now the Democrats are totally fricked with their only star under 65 being the Barry.

I honestly do not believe the numbers are as high as they say. We know how the media tends to manipulate numbers in their favor.

Do this. Kill ACA. And reduce if only a little our footprint in the ME and I will call victory for our better future

Perfect example of how blinded the leftists are with their love affair with a persons skin color.

The ACA was a party creation and they did horribly in that most of the party voting on it never read it in any detail.

They even admitted to not reading it.

Then they all distanced themselves from Obama in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

bullshite. Just as you are defending him now, the dems defended him then.

I would hardly say it is in "shamble" tho.

They have are historically the weakest they've ever been. What do you call shambles?

They picked up seats in Congress and should be fine after clearing out the dead wood.

By continuing the exact same tactics of the last 10 years?

I can't blame all of that on Obama. The DNC chaos and emails shed a lot of light on the Democratic party.

it's more nuanced than that

he is the ideal black person for white voters...well spoken, non threatening, well educated

for black voters he's a democrat and he's black and a black man becoming president was like the cubs winning the world series. the first black man to become president is aspirational

he's ostensibly relatable...either you were someone with 2 young kids and a wife or you are someone with 2 young kids and a wife...or that's how you envision yourself. he's aspirational in that way as well.

then there's ole dubya. dubya was such an awful president and people were sick of his bullshite and rhetoric..."change" and Obama seemed to be his polar opposite. he can speak well, he looks relaxed on stage, and he didn't frick with any controversial issues his first term. he was a radical in disguise. once he was re-elected, we saw the radical.

If Obama got a quarter of the criticism for his foreign policy that GWB rightfully got for his, Obama's approval rating would look a lot different.

Dems will talk for two years about picking up midterm seats. And who knows, they may swing some House seats in their direction. But they have no shot at actually controlling the House. And of course, the Senate is likely to be a bloodbath for them in 2018 as TEN Dems are up for reelection in States that Trump won. It's going to get far worse for the Dems before they even realize what's going on, as clueless ideologues prove on this board every day.
