If Trump wants a massive stimulus package for infrastructure, as long as that money actually goes to infrastructure rather than paybacks to campaign contributors like Jamaican rum distillers and solar panel manufacturers, then it will be something I can support despite it being a massive government expense. Transportation infrastructure is one of the few things virtually all Americans can agree is within the federal government's scope of enumerated powers. It's basically the only thing that the federal government does that we all benefit from and is completely uncontroversial.

Damn SKIPPY>......Conservatism be damned...cut taxes and spend money dammit.....borrow you way to greatness...and when things get tight simply tell the lendor they are going to have to renegotiate the terms of the loan to one you can live with!!!! It is going to be fricking YUGE!!!!!

It bought a bunch of big orange signs put next to existing projects that said "your tax dollars at work... Stimulus 2009… "

The ONLY stimulus trump should be pushing is repeal of the ACA and tax reform. I'm disgusted at how many small govt folk that are cheering for Keynesian spending simply because it's their team pushing it.

Obama's shovel ready stimulus stimulated union bosses pockets and had little impact on the country.

Some truth to that. I saw several cases of this locally.

Seattle had a boat load of projects going on.

Obama is done...working people don't give a frick what side of the aisle the pork is coming from as long as it doesn't stop!

Why are some of you so bent on dwelling in the past? The GOP has the tiller and we are on the brink of a new dawn for working class Americans....Obama and the democrats failed....this is going to be the GOP spending....it is going to be different because no one is going to stand in the way...democrats will love it, the new GOP is going to eat it with a spoon...and any damned conservatives that try to throw a wet blanket on the party may well find themelves the target of a justice department probe. It is a brave new world and y'all need to forget about 11/017/16 and remember 11/08/16.....cut taxes and spend money like you are printing it...BECAUSE YOU frickING ARE!!!! Keynes was right and we are about to see how right on a fricking grand, making America great again, scale!

We wouldn't need to do it if Stimulus 1 and 2 had gone where they should have gone. There should be an audit on the Obama stimulus because he takes credit on halting a depression because of it.

I doubt they would be happy once the results came in, they stole just about all of it.

Buddy I am on the train....I have seen the light...I am a White Man in America and I earn a living by building shite for Government agencies...frick a democrat and a conservative Republican....give me a MAGA candidate for now and for the fricking duration....There ain't nothing in the world wrong with spending trillions of borrowed dollars...and hell yeah.....if it means I can get through the airport quicker or can drive down the road without worrying about the front end alignment on my F-350 I am all in and I mean all the way the frick in....cut taxes and spend like crazy....it will work....the only reason it has failed to work as well as it could have in the past is because we had all of those damned wet blanket conservatives always worrying about using credit cards to finance lifestyle...and they were right to a point prior to 11/09/16....but that was when we would see telling or creditors to kiss our arse as a bad thing....when all the time they had no choice but to do business with us. This is what Trump has done all of his life and you can't argue with the results...I am not being flippant....I know it seems that way....but I am truly on the train.....I don't care what it cost to save those jobs in Indiana....working people have seen the light and Trump is the right person at the right time to borrow our way to success....but it ain't for the feint of heart...we gotta be brave...there are going to be naysayers and those who will say that defaulting on financial obligations are a bad thing but we must remember no one is being forced to loan us money...they want to so they can make money....

The difference is that by investing in infrastructure, the costs to transport goods becomes lessened, and transportation times become lessened as well resulting in cheaper goods, more goods, more spending, and greater tax receipts. Indirectly, most infrastructure programs pay for themselves. In fact, the gains in efficiency created by the massive expense that was the first interstate system paid for itself in less than 5 years.

Fiscal conservatism isn't just about spending less. It's about spending in ways which result in more government income in the future. There are tons of things which need to be cut long before ceasing to spend money on critical infrastructure.

Added lanes from 10-12 split to Highland Road on 10 and however far on 12 from O Neil.

These were so called "shovel ready" projects.

Obviously our infrastructure is old and decaying and needs to be modernized.

This is the main issue. Put a list together of projects that truly need to be done, bid them out, show the RFPs and who got the contracts. Trump should be able to do this well as he's a real estate mogul. So, let's see the project proposals, the projected costs, the actual cash outlays, and be truly transparent throughout the entire process. I might be able to get on board with that.

But a generalized all-purpose stimulus spending bill that shells out "cash for clunkers?" Hell the frick no.

If it is actually spent on infrastructure construction and design.

If it'a another Obama hand out package that barely invests in infrastructure, it will suck.

Obama spent 3% of his stimulus on infrastructure, and 97% on boosting various kinds of welfare programs. That's not an exaggeration

Exactly how a reasonable idea ended up being a dud. Infrastructure, when developed properly, pays off long term.

I-10 in west Texas, several highways in AZ, and several other places with long-term projects that got a sign. One of the highways in AZ was already done when they put the fricking sign up.
