They have 5 million total people and your article demonizes the United States because "oil wealth" didn't go to the government it went to private citizens.

I love when liberals try to hold up an example of socialism it's always a 95% white small Nordic country with oil and gas wealth, why not Venezuela? They have the worlds largest oil reserves and don't even have toilet paper.

Norway is a tough example to use. It's nearly impossible to gain citizenship there. You don't really hear about traveling to Norway to "find the Norwegian dream".

Oh wow... Norway has 188k for each of its citizens. Can they just write a check on that? Or does the government of Norway really have that money?

If they had started back in the 60's when Norway did then they would have a leg up on it.
Also, Norway isn't "giving" the money to its citizens....it is holding it for them.

Norway's oil production per capita would equal the US producing approximately 100 million barrel of oil per day...so yeah, great comparison.
