It's fine to call a fetus a fetus, but it's a bit of an annoyance because it carries no emotional attachment like names we have for other stages of the human life cycle. Although creating emotional attachment can seem like sensationalism, it's usually an attempt to break through this thought that a "fetus" is a less valuable stage of human life than a "baby"

Abortion fills me with physical horror. Also, the monetary arguments people use to defend abortion (that it lowers welfare expenditure) fill me with physical horror.

Also, the freakonomics argument about lowering crime rates horrifies me. Somehow in Captain America 2 eliminating "future criminals" is horrifying, but when it's practiced in reality through abortion, it's a societal necessity

If calling an unborn child a "baby" is such wanton sensationalism, then people who are so adamant about the term also need to go after folks who aren't aborting their kids who refer to their unborn as "babies."
No expecting mother says "the fetus" is kicking when a little foot presses against her abdomen.
If anything is "sensationalism," it's people who'll jump through mental gymnastics to strip any and all humanity from a defenseless one for the convenience of an abortive argument.
