Spontaneous abortion and abortion are not the same thing.
Umm a spontaneous abortion is a type of abortion.
IOW, medically speaking there are two types of abortions: spontaneous (aka miscarriage) and elective. This isn't debateable.

wait - are you saying that a miscarriage is counted as an abortion???????
Medically, yes.

Ommg knows that statistic refers to induced abortions.
Again, I believe you mean "elective" here not "induced."
But anyways, how am I supposed to know? There is no link in the OP, and I have no clue what the ballpark figures are. Plus, I don't know if CDC classifies abortions in the medical sense or not. I'm just going by whats in the OP (or whats left out)

But, when does he ever do anything except get defensive and deflect when it comes to any segment of the black population being held accountable for their actions?
I'm not deflecting, I'm just trying to make sure we all know what the OPs numbers refer to since theres no link.

Man, I admire your perseverance on this board. Hell I can take it nearly as much anymore, and my schedule isn't as grueling as yours. Kudos.

I would think conservatives who mostly are white and don't like black people would be happy about black baby abortions.

Fair enough, ommg, but the fact that it's a cumulative total since 1973 strongly implies that we're talking about "elective" abortions from around the time that the scotus ruled on roe v wade.
To Bucky Badger, I never said anything about the legality of this. Some of us consider abortion to be the taking of a human life. I think that chart is disgusting, regardless of what color those babies were.

This may be true. I just think it makes sense to include links in OPs with these type of figures so there no ambiguity.

Why wouldn't they group the other stats together? They are all deaths, medically, yes?
Posted on 11/30/14 at 8:24 pm to KCT
You are free to have your thoughts. You said they aren't being held accountable. They have nothing to be accountable to you or anyone else. Maybe the imaginary man in the sky. But, not you.

Have you ever seen miscarriages totaled with elective abortions in any sort of comparison sense?
Also = what percent of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and what percent in elective abortion??
i.e. would it significantly change the numbers if miscarriages WERE included in the numbers?? I would think that significantly less than 30 percent of pregnancies end in natural miscarriages.

Its not that bad in here. Plus I like to use this place as my "escape from reality."
Posted on 11/30/14 at 8:32 pm to onmymedicalgrind
One of my primary escapes from reality is LSU sports. One more bowl game, and then I have to wait for baseball.
This board, imo, is all about reality. Reality has mostly been kind of lousy lately, so I definitely can't say I come here to get away from anything.

Another abortion thread.

The graph doesn't say "elective" hence the ambiguity.

Well about 15-20% end in miscarriage, so yes, I do believe it would skew the data if included.

It's ironic that the Democrats support a policy that actually kills off newborns of their most reliable voting block.
If they were anti abortion along with the GOP they'd have millions more black voters today and probably would be guaranteed to win every Presidency

So mothers who had spontaneous abortions aka miscarriages essentially killed their baby?
Can a mother not cause herself to miscarry?
All? Of course not. But I would wager it is a very small percentage of that number.

Well then its not a spontaneous abortion aka miscarriage if the mother is actively doing something to terminate her pregnancy.

What is a small percentage of what? Not sure what you're referring to here.

Of that 13 million, how many do you suppose would be contributing members of society had they not been aborted?
