Ah yes, riot control. The Guard unit I was with when I lived outside of Chicago spent a third of its time training in riot control as a result of the nastiness of the 60's and 70's. The words of wisdom I learned there...

I can remember our Top Sergeant, an older black gentleman who had done two tours in Vietnam before switching to full time National Guard back in the States, informing us how to handle a riot baton.

"You wanna jab 'em in the bellah! Don't go for that over the head clubbin''em sh*t, news cameras pick that up. Its easy to block! Jab 'em in the bellah or the balls! They fold up nice then. You can stomp on they @ss once they fall down too."

If you riot and the National Guard gets called in you deserve what you get for being stupid enough to still be out on the street once they show up.

Hopefully the NG will have an oppertunity to thin the ranks a bit. Maybe give us some relief on welfare outlays.

They need to get Holder, Sharpnot, Rangel and Jezze, right down there in the middle of them before the gas canisters and rubber bullets start flying. They should all get to take part, talk about a police azz beating that's well deserved!

Sounds like the Schools are asking that it be released on Sat/Sunday, so that the kids are already home and won't have to lockdown school or have the kids attempt to get home in the middle of whatever bullshite takes place.

I would suggest they wait until Wednesday or Thursday of next week and release the decision in the very early evening hours.

Why?

Weather.

Extended cold spell with overnight temps below freezing for at least 5 consecutive nights coming in on Wednesday. Releasing it during a snow storm would be the very best, but that may be too far away. But hanging out in large groups, all bundled up, when the temps are in the 20's gets old fast.

Public schools in St. Louis County, including Ferguson, are closed both Monday and Tuesday of next week (Monday for Professional Development Day and Tuesday for Veterans Day).

I would use those troops to seal off the area and let them have at it. And when it is all over and they have burned the place to the ground, leave it like they left it.

And the business owners?

If I was a betting man, it will be released between now and EOD Monday. If schools are in the talks of when to release, would be dumb to wait until the day before classes start back up. Give a day buffer to see how things go and whether it calms down enough to have classes on Wed or if they have to cancel.

If they were smart, they would set the NG up at the city limits to protect the surrounding areas and let the good folks of Ferguson burn their own shite to the ground. No intervention.

Cold weather is just another reason for them to burn something.

Most people who make statements like this don't care, but I'll proceed anyway.

60% of Ferguson homes are owner-occupied. The vast majority of the protestors aren't from Ferguson. Many of the blacks in Ferguson are blue-collar or middle-class black families. Why everyone thinks we should just sit by and watch some radicals destroy the community because of a few idiots is a mystery to me.

It was largely outside agitators. How would you feel if they were bussed into your hometown to riot?

That being said, the usefulness of a crisis in Ferguson is past. The election already happened. Maybe it's mostly locals now.

Well I suggest you get out from behind your computer and not let the out of town thugs burn down your town. You think its right for them to burn down towns around Ferguson and leave y'all alone? Nope sure ain't. This is yalls problem, so don't let them out of town folks run over y'all, be a man and go stand up for your neighborhood.

I feel for the business owners and homeowners there. But any rioters and looters are trying to provoke a confrontation for the race baiters and I for one would not give them one. Let them do what they are going to do anyway, and let the country see just what they truly are.

It will be there for all to see, who the true racists and criminals are. Unfortunate for the business owners and residents, but I won't risk a single policemen or guardsman's life to give Holder Sharpton or Jackson any talking points.
