Little does he know.... The flag of The United States of America is way more emblematic of slavery, racism and bloody battles than the Confederate Flag will ever be.

This is about 10 minutes from where i live. I've been there many times to take pictures, and to witness Civil War Reenactments. It's a shame. It is a beautiful place, and the reenactments include participants living in tents and giving demonstrations of how the soldiers (North and South) lived in preparation of battles.

It's a Civil War battlefield, for gosh sakes. of course they will have a Confederate and an American flag flying there!

In South Carolina the always offended wanted the flag moved off of the state capitol building. The NAACP negotiated that it be moved to a memorial instead. They came back on their agreement and demanded that it be moved entirely. You can not ever negotiate or trust these zealots. They will not be happy until they possess everything you own. Remember, you did not build that.

The Confederate Battle flag is germane to the exhibit and should remain in place at this museum. I'm so sick of a vocal minority of people running this country into the ground.

Not surprised:

We don't fly the British flag at Revolutionary War battlefields. We don't fly the Japanese flag at Iwo Jima. Pretty sure you won't find a Nazionale flag proudly displayed over a holocaust center in Germany.

Why would you fly the flag of the loser? Especially when it was never flown at the site. If anything the CSA flag would be more appropriate.

My guess is Dee Clemmons was taught otherwise at her alma mater.
To make it worse, she started off as a teacher. Hopefully not a history teacher.

Not Revolutionary War, but this is a photo from the Chalmette Battlefield from the War of 1812.

Myself, being a Viet Nam combat veteran, will not be surprised when I will be labeled a war crimes criminal, and Philadelphia, epicentre of where our country was founded ,is only known as the home of the cheese steak sandwich.

I agree with your point but we were absolutely guilty of war crimes in Vietnam.

Not sure how it can be seen any other way. Would the downvoters like to dispute the war crimes?

I know for a fact the Union Jack is flown at the Chalmette Battlefield. Once again, you are completely wrong and are just shitting words.

UI thought you guys wanted Civil War stuff in a museum. This is a Civil War Battlefield. It is a living museum.
So, you now you don't want them at museums, either? thanks for clarifying, and confirming what so many are saying. You can never be satisfied until everything is removed.

This is what happens when we elect SJWs.

I can see the Confederate Flag becoming THE FLAG of RESISTANCE and replacing the GADSDEN flag as the flag of warning.

Yep. Might be a good time to go in to the Rebel flag making business.

And we committed war crimes during WWII, too. Every war there has been war crimes committed by both sides. You label war criminals "war criminals". You do not label everybody who fought in a war a war criminal.

Would you like to dispute that war crimes were only committed by Vietnam Veterans? You are another one that likes to paint with a broad brush.

Like I said,"we" committed war crimes. I didn't charge that guy individually. And never would. Just think it's preposterous to act like we didn't cause great and unjustified harm to that country. He brought up Vietnam war crimes as if they weren't a thing.

WW2 is a different animal and you know it. For starters the war itself was justified. Sorry you can't think objectively

Yup, can't have a slave system without the state to play the enforcer to catch and return runaways. Imagine what would have happened to slavery had the country split and slaves actually had a reliable place to escape to.

There is a very specific reason for that. Pretending that you don't know it makes you a liar.

Hint: It isn't there simply to represent the side of a battle who lost.
