I maintain that most people didn't even realize any of these statues, minus maybe Lee, had anything to do with the Confederacy.

Geezus. I could be wrong, but I bet the total amount of people that left the city bc of a damn monument is like 5 or less.

This is either demagoguery at it's worst, delusional, or both. Mitch has no moral compass, like many a sociopath. He has done something unforgivable to all the citizens of New Orleans, past, present and future. If in some future time the tables turn and MLK statues, Armstrong statues, and other symbols dear to the Black community now start being taken down or renamed with no input from the total citizenry - be sure to thank Mitch. He set the precedent.

So, the statues offend black people. Therefore, the offended black people have left the city. Therefore, New Orleans is now all white? Interesting?

So um Mitch.....ah ....um so it was the statues that ran most of the taxpaying citizens out of New Orleans East in the late 1980's and esly 1990's and not the fourfold increase in felonies like murder, robbery, et al as well as Section 8 Housing.

Yeah it was the statues that were responsible for the incredible corruption in the NOPD for generations that got so bad that some cops were the biggest drug dealers in he city and running little hit squads

Yes it was PGT Beauregard and General Lee as well as Jefferson Davis statues that kept people from moving to New Orleans when Sidney Barthelemy was mayor and not the 350+ murders a year

The statues prevented big companies from locating in New Orleans providing high paying jobs and not the piss poor public school system.

It's because of the statues that the streets in Lakeview have not been repaired since before Katrina

Wow....I never realized that all of these problems could be attributed to 3-4 dead white guys who have been dead for 125 years or more.....yes take 'em down....that solves EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!

You will not be welcome at the next Jesuit alumni get together

Well, you see with Lee, Davis, Beauregard along with A. Jackson and S. Jackson, they got together and affected a change in course to the storm. PGT understanding NOLA because he helped to build some of the levees knew just how to hit NOLA and he along with the rest used their great non human powers attained in the spirit world to direct Katrina to devastate NOLA so as to run out all of the African Americans.

Mitch now has his revenge!!!!!

I grew up in Louisiana and it will always be home. I'll always cheer for it.

However the fact is, it's officially fallen over the cliff. The barbarians are in the gates and they are about to run wild. Louisiana will be Mississippi in 10 years. Baton Rouge and New Orleans will be like Jackson.
