Look, even if you think the thought of a man kissing another man is gross, there are plenty of straight couples for whom the image of them engaged in coitus is downright appalling. Yet if two ugly people kiss...nobody panics, as long as they are male and female. But I'll tell you, I've watched Jerry Springer. I've seen much grosser shite than two gay dudes giving each other a peck.

Yeah. Heaven forbid your kid see something like that in a safe, controlled environment that gives you an opportunity to have an open conversation with your kid about something the are absolutely going to hear about and see sometime in the near future.

I had to talk to my 1st grader about using the word "gay" with his friends. He didn't know what it really meant but I treated it just like the words stupid, ugly and fat.

Well it's true regardless. I'm aware of what they see on tv and in movies. I won't shelter them nearly as much as many do, but I do take notice of what they are exposed to. Especially when they're young. I'll explain to them about homosexuality at some point but it hasn't come up and they're still young so it hasn't been much of an issue. They do know about various kinds of sins in the world, and are sophisticated in their questions about how the world works. When they see something on tv or just ask questions I answer them as I would to an adult, without hiding things.

Why aren't we discussing the fact that Jackson Jeffcoat was clearly discriminated against for being straight? He was defensive player of the year for his conference also and did not even get drafted! I demand an apology and an investigation into this outrage. The NFL must conform exactly to my outlook on life without exception and I will not stop until I have single-handedly changed the culture that has worked just fine for everyone else until now.

In all seriousness, that last couple of sentences is why this pisses me off so much. I could not care less that he is gay. It just pisses me off when an outsider comes into an organization and says, "You have to change your culture to fit my idealogy even though I have nothing to do with your organization and don't personally have to live with any consequences of forcing a change in culture." My immediate reaction is a big old "frick You!" Only because I am Libertarian and cannot stand one group telling another group how to handle their business.
