In all honesty I hoped when she was hired that she would somehow be good and resurrect my opinion of fox, but I never could make it through a single Kelly File. She was terrible from the beginning.
It may have something to do with the dramatic shift Fox News has taken since 2012. They have literally become crazy about toeing the line between conservatism and liberalism which makes them appear rudderless at times. They attempt to use fancy establishment types like Krauthammer and the "fair and balanced" monicker. The worst thing they've ever done is attempt to match the humor associated with popular liberal comedy shows, and 99% of the time it makes them look like the giant nerds they likely are.
O'Reilly has become unwatchable after his monologue segment, and Hannity sucks after 5 minutes (unless he is somehow able to not repeat himself and/or not talk about himself which is like trying to catch Sasquatch). Fox in general has sucked since 2012.

I listened carefully to her announcement of the move on her show. She said that she'd like to become more connected to her three boys, aged 3, 5 and 7. The new job at NBC is for a daily show on Daytime TV. Her gig at Fox has her on at night.
She will probably see her children more by working the new "day job" rather than her night job at Fox. Think about it, at Fox she would only see her children early in the morning before they leave for school and on weekends. With the day job at NBC, she'll be able to see her children every evening.
My guess is that this is a YUGE reason for the move. I can't conclude with certainty that the motive for the move is mostly ideological, political or because of any problems at Fox. IMHO, she wants to spend time parenting her kids every evening, and the day job at NBC will enable her to do so.
