This whole thing is a bunch of bullshite that masks the true problems of the city of which these "Powerful Elites" do not want to discuss or fix.

To be honest I doubt the average black person in NOLA really gives a shite about this. The action here is coming from white limousine liberals and black pols.

Oh, I agree. I just find it appalling how people like that who claim to represent the voice of the black community care so little for the real conditions of the black community due to their lack of action to clean it up for the good people trapped in those crime infested neighborhoods.

That's because it's all about the virtue signaling.

Doing what you're actually elected to do? That's too hard.

What makes him think the north was so innocent, because they didn't own slaves?
The laugh is, the people of the North owned slaves too. Just not as widespread as in the South. This did not make the North more moral or blameless. The killing of Americans during the Civil War was carried out by both sides.

So Mitch wants to tear down the Washington Monument too? Gotta be consistent.

How long before they go after national monuments, homes and any historical landmark of any historical figure the Left "deems" racist. Its a slippery slope.

Until somebody figures out a way to muzzle the MSM, the Left will have a platform to spew forth their garbage. And spineless politicians will be bullied into submission.

Freedom of speech and press does presuppose responsible, ethical expression - integrity.

Lets direct this thread back to Mitch Landrieu and how horrible of a mayor he has been for the city. High crime, poor schools, poor roads, more cops needed, more firemen needed.

Getting his nephew off light on a dwi.

Yeah, he sucks.

I always enjoy when I see posters get that "a ha" moment of clarity.

All the Proggies that run NOLA care about is power. That's it. They feel this is a way they can keep that power. They don't care about the community at all. Never have. If they did, you would see better results.

This will continue as long as the other side, or the left's "enemy" allows it.

I've posted it before and cannot remember which black guy said it but, "Black lives have to matter to black people before they matter to anyone else."

I wonder what people who lived through the 40s-60s think about all these young morons screaming "racist" at everything and everyone they disagree with. They have no clue.

New Orleans is a wonderful city with tons to offer anyone who visits or lives there. The problem is with people like Mitch and his buddies who run the city and do JACK shite for the people living there, because Mitch and his buddies don't live in those areas of the city, but it's those areas of the city that keep Mitch and his buddies in power, and because of empty nonsense like this and his assurance that he has their best interests at heart. HIS ACTIONS or Lack Thereof speak otherwise, and you cant miss it when you stumble into those areas of the city that he screws with his inactions.

Mitch is far too busy with other super serious issues like taking down inanimate statues of historical figures to be concerned with the real problems New Orleans faces every single day. He can't be bothered with the real world, and affecting real change that makes black people's lives actually better in New Orleans. NAH, not that guy. F that.

If Black lives actually improved, what would he have to run on next election?

People like that are the absolute ENEMY of the black population in New Orleans. They are wolves in sheeps clothing. What New Orleans really needs is strong leadership, leadership that will clean up the filth and let the people of the city, both black and white alike, be able to walk down their streets at night with less fear and apprehension than ever before. The city has so much to see and do and experience that it's unlike so many other cities in this country. It's rich in culture, in life, in food, music, and things to do that you just cant flush it down the drain and move on. We will lose far too much. It must be saved.

According to dozens of comments published on numerous websites and sports-related online forums between 2004 and 2009, Scott McKay, the owner and publisher of The Hayride, allegedly has an extensive track record of defrauding and scamming numerous readers, dating back to his first publication, the now-defunct Purple and Gold.

“I just think he (McKay) takes peoples money and run,” commented “LSU7171,” one of the site’s most prolific users, on the forum Tiger Droppings. Two years after Purple and Gold closed, several others claimed McKay continued to owe them money, as much as a $100 a person. Some apparently wanted McKay reported to the Better Business Bureau, though considering his business was defunct, that likely wouldn’t help much. “A crook if you ask me,” one person said. “I met Scott. That guy is a serious prick,” wrote someone else. The fetid cesspool of Tiger Droppings has occasionally been relentlessly cruel to me too, but with McKay, it seems uniquely personal. These people feel legitimately ripped off; they weren’t merely angry with something he had written online.

The antebellum homes is already starting. Schools and Greek organizations have been banned from holding formals and proms at them.

There will be a movement soon to have them removed from the Federal Historic Registry.

treasonous statue.
The southern states that seceded from the Union were not trying to overthrow the Federal Government, they were merely trying to exercise their Constitutional right to exit the Union. Therefore, not treasonous.

I'm all for removing Lee's statue because aside from a moment during the Mexican American war he had NOTHING to do with the history of the city. I would take it down and give it back its original name "Tivoli Place" and put up some sort of Renaissance style statue.

I'm sure that I would get howls from both sides. The "preservationists" who claim tat I am attacking "history" and the African American iconoclasts who probably want to place it with a statue of Avery Alexander or Mahalia Jackson or someone like that Ruby girl who was the first black child at he France School

Piss off everybody!!!!!!
