Meet The Well-Connected, Powerful Elites Who Are Destroying New Orleans

Ever wonder why these things get legs so fast and hit you like a hurricane out of nowhere? Grassroots things don't do that. They take time, lots of it, to get the ball in motion. They don't spring up overnight. Every bit of this is orchestrated by the liberal elites who are intent on destroying your communities for the sake of "their dream of the way life should be". These are some really bad characters we're dealing with, and they couldn't care less what the community at large thinks about their actions. They are going to shove it down your throat regardless.

During the vote to remove the monuments, New Orleans City Councilwoman Latoya Cantrell said the movement to remove monuments did not come from the ground up, rather it came directly from Landrieu’s office. The monuments were pre-picked by Landrieu and it entirely unclear how the mayor actually chose which monuments should go.
Sources close to the Hayride say Landrieu’s call for monuments to be removed was not simply a reaction to the Charleston AME Church shooting, but rather a well-planned and well-organized demand.
Back in June, when Landrieu called for the monuments to be removed, immediately following was a protest rally at Robert E. Lee Circle where protesters burned the Confederate flag.
Coincidentally, members of the Trilateral Commission of New Orleans, which is made up of multiple social justice advocacy groups, spoke at the flag-burning rally.
Besides the NAACP, one of the groups involved with the Trilateral Commission of New Orleans and the protest was the National Action Network, which was founded in 1991 Rev. Al Sharpton, the notorious race-baiting liberal.
Sharpton has become known for perpetually running to the scenes of racial tensions across the country and drumming up controversy among local residents.
quote:
Besides Isaacson and Brooks, other very prominent liberals who sit on the Trilateral Commission, include former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell.
quote:
The purpose of Sharpton, Isaacson, Brooks and Cummings all pushing the ‘Confederate monuments invoke racism’ narrative is to ultimately sweep the South of symbols from the past that they claim to be offensive to black Americans, even though a number of blacks do not support removing history.
Meanwhile, the New Orleans media has made the removal of monuments seem like an issue that came from the residents up to Landrieu’s office. When, in actuality, it came down directly from the Landrieu administration with the help of powerful liberal voices driving the narrative as well.
The first step was going directly through Landrieu to get Lee Circle, PGT Beauregard, Jefferson Davis and the Liberty Monument removed. Tomorrow, the elites will move onto the next pieces: Andrew Jackson’s famous statue in the French Quarter.
Down the road, they’ll move onto the historical Southern street names (because they’re racist). Then, Landrieu and Company will turn their attention to Catholic street names (because they promote one religion over another).
Eventually, New Orleans will be unrecognizable.
And it will be solely a result of well-connected, liberal elites who foisted their politically correct worldview onto the residents of a historically-rich city without checking with the voters first.

The good mayor actually claimed that the idea is his. He was driving past Lee Circle with his son & according to him " I had this question to myself, what would I say if my son asked me if slavery was ok since Lee owned slaves?"

We must wipe all history prior to 1968 from the minds of the proletariat comrades!

What kid would ever ask his father if slavery was ok since Lee owned slaves? What absolute horseshite. He never thought that, I can almost guarantee he didn't. Nobody thinks that. What a bullshite artist.

Mitch is trying to angle for a national position somewhere. He's been an absentee mayor for years now. I always get a kick out of his nothing burger responses to huge crimes, "Such a cowardly act. We'll do everything in our power to bring these cowards to justice".

Y'all are still pissy about a treasonous statue.
Boo who. Get over it snowflakes

What makes him think the north was so innocent, because they didn't own slaves?
Just because slavery was outlawed in the Union states doesn't mean the north wasn't filled with racists. Slavery just so happened to be the south's economy.

So Mitch wants to tear down the Washington Monument too? Gotta be consistent.

You and yours would flush their own birth rite down the toilet if you thought it would earn you brownie points with liberal thought.

How about you quit this thread too?

Are the founding fathers traitors in your mind? They rebelled and committed "treason" against the Crown.

You know who else owned slaves? Black people. And they still do in Africa.

And you're still pissy about something that may or may have not happened to your what, great great great grandfather that none of us presently living had a damn thing to do with?

Trump and sessions should investigate the landrieu family. Especially Mary's ties to Hillary, since they look the same

Bunch of fricking commies. I can't believe the people will stand for this.

I honestly can't stand when people look at history through today's glasses. It is so ignorant and downright lazy.
Using our values to compare to history is stupid. We don't need to erase history because there were bad times and horrible things that happened, we need to LEARN from it. But I guess their feelings are more important than improving themselves and their communities.

Its sad that pieces of history can be destroyed on whim by one administration. They are robbing from future residents who in the may appreciate history.
Leftists are vile sick people

See that's the truly ironic thing about it all. They're more worried about some historical statues keeping them down than their decaying, crime ridden neighborhoods keeping them down. Its amazing. Similarly, I suppose it's easier to blame your life's problems on a bunch of rogue white guys in hoods some 50 or 60 years ago than deal with the black on black murders that happen on a literal daily basis in the city, and many times multiple killings every single day.
If only Landreau and Co would put as much efforts into cleaning up those god awful dilapidated parts of the city that have become crime factories. But alas, that's not even on the radar, and so things keep spiraling downward and we focus on freaking nonsense like taking statues down in a historical city like NOLA. Unreal.

To be honest I doubt the average black person in NOLA really gives a shite about this. The action here is coming from white limousine liberals and black pols.
