So the President wasn't "briefed" on the sources or methods? Thank God.

If nothing else, this probably emboldens those who want to keep the President away from the most sensitive information.

And their reasons are probably pretty good for wanting to do that.

This polarization has been building up for years. The Obama administration shite on a lot of people in this country. No surprise everyone is getting behind someone to shite on those people back. The media is galvanizing that polarization with it's yellow journalism

You're right. I fear the political situation in the country is going to keep getting worse until it results in unrest and violence in the streets. Hope I'm wrong.

1. You're not wrong. The media, social media, etc are making good $$$ off of dividing ppl and civil unrest will make them more $$$. So it will get a lot worse.

2. I am glad that I am on the side with the most guns.

You can you share your opinion on the matter since you have Austin experience.

If you always get this upset I'll find another Austinite to ask. No worries.

This is hilarious. McMaster:

- Confirmed that the information was shared by Trump without prior discussion
- Confirmed that Trump did not even know it came from an ally's intel service
- Confirmed that Bossert reached out to the three-letter agencies afterward

i have no butt hurt of Trump. I actually think he is just what the republican party needs. I am an independent, i believe neither one of the major parties is worth a shite. but the republicans get under my skin more than the dems do. I watched this board melt of every little thing Obama did for 8 years. Then they elected Trump and he took a giant shite on everything they stood for and they still defend him.

Confirmed that the POTUS did not do anything inappropriate, illegal, or any way scandalous and the report was false.

McMasters would not confirm or deny that classified info was shared with Russians.

He specifically said the info discussed was totally appropriate in context of the discussion. WTF do you expect? Trump gave the Russians the nuclear codes?

quote:

He also did not indicate that there was any plan to deal with leakers.

That's true. That makes be believe McMaster tipped someone off in IC who subsequently tipped off the leakier and he is protecting them.

I'm pretty sure our allies will have something to say about "inappropriate" since they now know anything they give to us Trump is willing to disclose on the spur of the moment without asking them

Certainly helped out Eli Lake

Ultimately, framing this as a competency issue is the way to go. But, you have to read between the lines. Discussing a threat already public in many ways isn't a huge deal.

But my takeaway is that McMaster probably has no confidence that Trump would have known where to draw the line, and they probably weren't very comfortable with how everything happened. Which, of course, is troubling.

McMaster said that was done out of "an overabundance of caution."

You can't say that press briefing helped the President at all.

Agreed, if you're being inclusive which it appears you aren't.

and if you are on the Trump train your ridiculed as being a redneck low info voter, etc.

See how this works. Your self righteousness is noted.

On a different note, gawd Meghan McCain is annoying.
