Don't be so obtuse. The issue isn't that they were black. The issue is whether they voted in the Dem primary a few weeks back, then voted in the GOP runoff yesterday. Black, white or in-between, if you voted in the primary for one party, the law does not allow you to vote in a runoff for the other party.
Seems to me, though, that poll workers should have been able to tell people that they were not allowed to vote. It should be fairly simple to create a list of eligible voters for the runoff, and if your name isn't on it, then you can't vote.

Maybe the Reps ought to take notice and return fair play in the next Dem primary race. Something like "do unto your enemy as he has done unto you".

Ask Arkansas. They do the same thing here. Vote for who you want to in a primary. If there is a runoff after first primary you get to vote again in the same party runoff. Then in the general election you can cross back over to the other party. Seems to me that when these type laws were passed that a specific party was in major control of their legislature. Manipulation of an election seems to rear its ugly head with this type set up.

Open primaries are used in a lot of states as a way to promote voter participation. There is the risk of manipulation like last night in Mississippi, but it really doesn't happen that often.
