Don't be so obtuse. The issue isn't that they were black. The issue is whether they voted in the Dem primary a few weeks back, then voted in the GOP runoff yesterday. Black, white or in-between, if you voted in the primary for one party, the law does not allow you to vote in a runoff for the other party.

Seems to me, though, that poll workers should have been able to tell people that they were not allowed to vote. It should be fairly simple to create a list of eligible voters for the runoff, and if your name isn't on it, then you can't vote.

Maybe the Reps ought to take notice and return fair play in the next Dem primary race. Something like "do unto your enemy as he has done unto you".

How is this the Dem's fault? It was a Republican who led the charge. They screwed up their own house.

How does the Mississippi law even allow this? In NJ you can't change your party registration after 40 days before the election. Only independents can declare for a party on election day.

. What does that say for Cochran?

Says that Tea Party types expose the fact that RINOS like Cochran are the reason for the exponentially increasing debt. And the rise of a class of folk who will vote money from the government, regardless.

Cochran and his inside supporters skim off their cut, take it to the bank, and ENABLE the rise of a Progressive electoral demographic who will support open borders and all out wealth redistribution...until it all implodes.

Congrats to Cochran and those who elected him. Libs and Conservatives. Great win. Forward.

Live and learn.

Ask Arkansas. They do the same thing here. Vote for who you want to in a primary. If there is a runoff after first primary you get to vote again in the same party runoff. Then in the general election you can cross back over to the other party. Seems to me that when these type laws were passed that a specific party was in major control of their legislature. Manipulation of an election seems to rear its ugly head with this type set up.

Open primaries are used in a lot of states as a way to promote voter participation. There is the risk of manipulation like last night in Mississippi, but it really doesn't happen that often.

Hopefully this is as big a trainwreck as possible, and it ends in humiliation for the GOP establishment.

Yeah hopefully it'll cost them the Senate so Cruz and Paul and Mike Lee can continue as members of the minority. That'd be awesome!
