So repeal, but the repeal takes two years to implement?

Of course - you have to do something to protect the victims of Obamacare that the DEMs rammed down their throats.

They will try to squeeze some extra legislation into the ACA repeal bill which will cause it to fail.

It will have to have some incorporate some coverage for those who are inflicted with Obamacare now.

I think he realizes this charade of repealing Obamacare to lower premiums and deductibles is up for this term, and is trying to throw one more pointless gambit out there to say "look, we tried, I even tweeted, like Trump does".

And no, he's bluffing them. He is crossing his fingers this gets shot down. The last thing in the world he wants is to straight repeal the ACA.

Or it's a murder suicide on Trump 2020 (remember this wouldn't kick in until 2019). Because if there's anything that's worse than doing nothing while premiums rise, coverage dwindles and markets wobble, it's taking over the whole process and accelerating everything going wrong while making insurance unaffordable for tens of millions.

54% is much more popular than anything else that's been suggested.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but a straight repeal takes 60 votes right? Because the EHBs, exchanges, mental health parity etc, don't count for reconciliation, only direct spending does.

The GOP has already committed suicide. Full repeal and actually trying to work out a serious healthcare overhaul of the entire system is their only chance for revival.

it is more popular BECAUSE of the alternatives being presented.

Not even 6 months ago, the law was fairly unpopular. It was unpopular among voters that voted in the 2016 election according to exit polls.

If bernie or hillary were in office and democrats thought medicare-for-all was attainable, the ACA would have less support from democratic voters.

Yep. I remember. I was there. I seen it. The ACA got dragged for 8 years and then millions of people came out of nowhere to say it was literally saving their life right now this moment while they were speaking this sentence.

The polemicism in this country is a headfrick.

I can't answer this for sure but I know whatever the GOP passed in 2015 made it to Obama's desk and there's no way that had 60 votes.

2 years, that way it won't go into effect until after the mid term elections.

Yes. And if it doesn't happen this time. It's AGAIN on the Dems. They will be dying on their swords and will be a bloodbath for the mid terms.

2017 + 2 = 2019

2020 mid terms.

The law magically became more popular when the GOP fricked up its alternative plans.

The majority of americans at the moment want to reform the ACA. I'd love to see a poll question ask the opinion of unreformed aca

2018 = midterm elections ie between presidential elections. 2018<2019 QED 2019 is after the 2018 elections. Math + Logic = hard.
