The last poll I saw had Roy Moore up by 10 pts and Brooks was polling in the single digits

The poll you are referencing is the only one I have been able to find

However, I heard Matt Murphy say that all 3 were neck and neck, or within 5 points of each other, on the radio yesterday morning

He did not cite a specific poll though

Likely insight from internal polling he or Leland are privy to without burning a source(s).

What is crazy is that Strange is campaigning like Hillary. Getting all the money and running on a "it's my turn" style record. The swamp money coming his way and his appointment by a disgraced Governor just look and taste bad to Alabamians that are paying attention.

frick Luther Strange. He needs to be in jail for his quid pro quo shite with Bentley.

And why Bentley probably headed for the hills when he did, instead of slugging it out any longer. His Strange deal would have been publicly verified (substantiated) and he'd had no political cover at all. And so much less of a deal to drop everything and simply run free.

yep

a few months ago, I had resigned myself to supporting Strange in the primary & holding my nose & voting for Moore in the general if I had to (will not vote for a democrat, health care & taxes are too important to risk, even if it means being "embarrassed" on a national level)

as things stand now, I will vote for Brooks in the primary - Luther is lying about him in his campaign & I find that troubling...

Has no chance, imo. The perception in this state is that he let Governor Bentley off so Bentley would appoint him as Senator. Whether or not that is true is irrelevant. That is the perception of almost everyone you talk to about the Senate race, especially if they don't follow politics at all.

This is between Roy Moore and Mo Brooks. I am fine with either of these men, but Luther Strange attacking Mo Brooks is only serving to help Roy Moore's campaign. Roy Moore is being smart to stay out of this.

Bentley just did an interview and claims he was the best Gov the state of Alabama has ever had, by far

They're both awful. Roy Moore is a better option than this two losers.

Bentley also refused to call for a special election, which would have allowed Strange to keep the seat until 2018.

Here's the story:

Whether it's political pandering (the winds of change) or genuine does not matter to me.

quote:

While there are many issues in this Senate race, I mention one that is very important to Dominic Gentile. Medical cannabis should be treated like any other medical treatment that saves lives or eases pain and symptoms. In a land of freedom and liberty, that decision is best kept between a doctor and a patient. That is what I believe. That is how I will vote in the Senate. That is how I have voted in the House. I am a firm supporter of the Constitution’s 10th Amendment states’ rights provision. As such, medical treatment decisions are not the federal government’s right to dictate. That decision should be left to state governments, their elected officials, doctors, and patients.

Do you happen to be in the Southern part of AL? That is where I see almost all of the Pittman support. Especially in Baldwin County.

Anyone got anything more recent than that?

Brooks came out in support of legalizing medical marijuana last night, and picked up an endorsement from Dom Gentile when he dropped out.

I haven't heard an poll numbers, but those two things yesterday will probably give him a bump.

this from the 12th

one excerpt

quote:

The Roy Moore versus Luther Strange battle illuminates a natural divide in the Republican Party. It is almost like two separate tribes.

It pits the evangelical, Donald Trump, George Wallace Republicans against the mainstream pro-business establishment Republicans.

As one North Alabamian told me, “We will see if Moses with his Ten Commandments comes down off Sand Mountain with the Hebrew children and slays the seven foot Philistine Mountain Brook giant.”

I agree here. Prescribe the most effective pain treatment. And it will never be smoking marijuana.

I'm voting for Brooks.

And the Bentley/Strange collusion is why I am grateful that Kay Ivey called a special election.
