I mean if a kid being hyper is treated like a disease along with nearly every other 'problem' people tend to have I don't see how being homo is not. It's obviously not normal.

But the gays will blame society for the reason he couldn't "be himself". Watch and see.

even if it were proven a curable mental disorder the left would still call you a mean spirited homophobic bigoted doodie head.

And I'd be ok with that as long as some real public awareness is raised about how this could be a real sickness. I just want some equality damn it.

The report says he was bisexual, not exclusively into homo bro hugs.

Seriously, if you have worked with or know any gay people, they don't make the choice to be gay (or at least very, very few do) and there is no treatment that will make them straight.

Doesn't mean there might my be some treatment if it was viewed like many other incurable diseases. Not that I think it should be, just playing devils advocate.

Very few do? Do some people choose to get sick and some don't? I'm confused. And yes, I have worked with several. I will say this...they were very good at their jobs. Every last gay person I worked with was.

OMG

Am I in Russia?

And if you are making this claim by reading an article from BET about a physcocotic murderer who was on PCP during NFL practices, that had a gay lover supposedly, id say you need a better correlation then that.

True, but you can make them as miserable as possible which is even better for half this board.

You mean like a born-with condition like ADHD, right?

Perhaps it's nature's way of saying your defective genes shouldn't be passed on.

It seems to have failed miserably.

No need for confusion. My reference to choice was in thinking about the actress Anne Heche who essentially made a fashionable choice in the 90's to represent herself as gay when she later claimed she was not or it was a confused period in her life.

If you personally view gay as an illness that classifies someone as "sick" and that can be cured, then that is your personal view.

My overarching point was simply that I don't think this is something that is "curable." Don't know from personal experience as I am hetero, but my view is based upon experience in working with and knowing people who are gay.

If homesexuality is fair game, then there are a significant number of issues people here show that should also be treated like a disease.

This should probably be more lined with transgender.

No one in a stable state of mind would ever think to cut their thing off or boobs off.

How that is even considered normal is beyond me.

there's very little scientific evidence to suggest that it's anything other than a choice. i'm sorry you can get on the google machine all day and not find a single definitive published study to suggest that being gay is genetic or biological in it's origin. maybe someday there will be, currently there is not. of course if we do discover a gay "gene" at some point the good news is we can cure it or at least test for in in utero and help parents exercise their right to "choose"! amirite!
