This is likely the reason they waited to release the robbery video.

Johnson was giving his account of what happened to every reporter who would listen, but had avoided giving it to the police until a day or so ago. Once they had him on record, having signed his witness statement (if in fact he told them the same story he had previously told everyone else), the time was right to release the video, which clearly shows Johnson's presence in the store, thus invalidating his eyewitness account of how the entire confrontation unfolded.

This man knows his shite.

Unfortunately, the truth will not matter to many on either side of the issue. Their minds are already made up.

I am disappointed that you dolts on this board are not seeing the bigger picture in this event. That the police, who acted with excessive force (killed an unarmed dude), have access to machinery that would make the Russian seperatists in Ukraine envious.

If this is what you take away from this thread, you must never visit the poli- board? There was an article just a few days ago about the militarization of the police force, and on regular intervals, cops are routinely called out here for overreaching.

Well, we are seeing a corrected first half of the story.

I'm interested in seeing the second half...

I'm expecting it to not be an innocent kid (we know that is debunked already) holding his hands up in submission and then being shot by the officer.

That's what.... truth.

Then the entire event will be shown to be nothing like what was reported and acted on.

If the truth does come out that Brown attacked the police officers, then that only magnifies the gross incompetence of the mayor's office and the chief of police in handling the release of information.

This is where the libs are going to turn to now. Its already happening on this forum and in the media. Instead of "we may have been wrong in jumping to conclusions" they are just gonna shift to attacking in this manner.

Its quite sad. Own your misjudgments early. Stay quiet and what for the facts like the rest of us have been telling you since this started.

ETA: They have said from day one that there was an altercation between the two for his sidearm. Problem is none of you were interested in hearing that and just ran with the narrative being run out on the liberal media.

Yeah, that ranks right up there with my concern for how my farts might be smelling tomorrow.

I never once jumped to any conclusion, but I can't speak for the media. However, I do think that both the mayor's office and the chief of police could have handled this situation a whole lot better from the outset. It didn't take me until today to come to this conclusion.

It's an investigation! Everyone wants immediate information NOW!

For the police to do their job right might take a few days.

Uh the "dolts" on this board regularly call out the police for excessive force and over militarization. The story started with that discussion here (see SFPs post history) then shifted to the racial discussion as the media narratives all pivoted that way.

It is starting to look like there was a massive overreaction to this event, sadly split right down racial lines just like the Martin/Zimmerman trial.

How so? Is your thought that a rushed defense of the officer or attacking a dead man would have staved off rioting?

I think we might not be giving them enough credit for combing through the information and evaluating it rather than sating our need for constant updates.

I think the Duke Lacrosse case took several months before the truth came out.

If I was still young and stupid I totally would.

Of course, it would have been OK back then because I was a registered Democrat voter.

At the same time, Johnson says the officer attempted to thrust his door open but the door slammed into Brown and bounced closed.
Any objective person will find this story very, very hard to believe.

Obama did just this in both cases of Brown and Martin.

They knew the officer's name and refused to release it.

Now, after many business were vandalized and torched, they release that Brown might have been a suspect or person of interest in a robbery.

If the public had known Brown were a suspect or a person of interest in a robbery AT THE TIME THE SHOOTING OCCURRED, then I doubt we would have seen the media shitstorm we saw over the past week, and it could have mitigated the rioting/looting and protesting we've seen. All of this information could have been obtained fairly easily and quickly had the police department and/or internal affairs done their job.

It doesn't take a genius to say, "Officer (X) states that he shot and killed Brown in self defense after police tried to question him about an armed robbery where Brown met the description. We're going to continue our investigation (or turn it over to an independent agency for review). We will let you know once we have more facts to present."

Your politics are shinning through. Just stop. The only reasonable ones so far are those trying to get the investigation correct and done by the book regardless of pressure to sate the 24 hour news cycle. The burning and looting is no ones fault but the "burners and looters". Dont hold anyone but them accountable for that nonsense.

Vital information was readily available.

1. The name of the officer who shot Brown.
2. Whether Brown was a suspect or person of interest in an armed robbery at the time the shooting occurred because Brown met the description.
3. A claim that the officer acted in self-defense.

It shouldn't have taken 6 days to release this information, especially after the public outrage we've seen.

They said it from day one. You didnt listen or want to hear it.

The public should have waited for the facts, not the other way around.

You are being a putz.
