I didn't realize the indoctrination begins so early, but it makes sense since their young brains are virtual sponges. Question is, what did your daughter take away from the whole thing? If you want to keep things balanced, hopefully you'll take the time to present things as your family sees them. But wow, whatever happened to Dick and Jane and all that?!?!

She was going to learn about it sooner or later. It's all about how you explain it to her at this point. I would agree that 5 is too early, but it's too late now. And I don't think learning things like this at 5 would be harmful to her social development. So I don't really see an issue.

Playing the "I Have a Dream Speech" a few days before the holiday doesn't really qualify as indoctrination. It's actually a hell of a speech.

Teacher: Racism is bad, and 50 years ago this happened.

Parents: QUIT INDOCTRINATING MY CHILDREN!

You dont get to disagree. Its not an opinion. You literally dont get to control how/when they experience everything. haha

Since when is public education free? Property taxes are far from free buddy.

The kid gets the same education even if her dad is homeless and penniless. Complaining that taxes are too high is honest; complaining about the free education your child receives is

At any rate, if you can't afford to educate your children privately, why are you even having kids?

That's part of school. You don't get to control every little thing your child hears from their teacher or in social situations with other kids. Deal with it or keep them locked up in the house until they are old enough as you see fit.

So not funny! It is not age or development appropriate. Was there a balanced perspective offered or just the simplistic white people are bad, just look at what happened back then?

It isn't free education. It is education paid for by the taxpayer. Therefore, a taxpayer should be able to complain about it all they want.

Not for you to decide. It's public education. If you don't like it, you have the right to educate your children yourself.

Nah it's free. The school doesn't send him a bill for tuition every semester.

And I take full advantage of that right! I leave it to others to have the government educate their offspring.

No, I'm serious. You literally are not physically capable of controlling what your kid hears from other people unless you are around them at all times. It isn't possible. You don't control what other kids say to them at school. You don't control what teachers say to them at school. This isn't an approach. This isn't an opinion. This is basic social interaction.

The Sessions hearings where a man is called bigoted and racist simply because he's white.
