ISIS is what 10k? 20k? Let's say 20k.

There are 1.6B muslims in the world. Or .00125% of the muslim population.

WBC would be .0000018%
And the total number of radical Islamists make up about .001%.
I'm talking about the beheaders - which by the way, our own tax dollars helped create and train.

I sure hope that doesn't dampen the enthusiasm for the sheople of this board who get off to shitting their pants in fear of these folks.

This is just an absolutely ridiculous answer. Christianity should model itself after Christ and his teachings, why shouldn't Muslims pattern their behavior after Mohamed if they want to be faithful?!

How dare you ask such a logical question? Clearly you are a racist and I have Muslim friends but you don't, racist-head.

Would you rather us ceasing the comparison between ISIS/Islam and WBC/Christianity and begin comparing ISIS/Islam to Russia/Christianity?

Or can we just put our thinking caps on and see the clear nuances in ideologies and populations and that murderers and non-murderers, though they may claim spiritual purpose from the same texts and beliefs, have nothing to do with each other?

I think the closeness of christianity following the teachings of christ is about the same as muslims following the teaching of mohammed.

Really? Christ is supposedly sinless, the son of God and taught us to love and pray for our enemies.
Mohamed was a bloodthirsty violent man who stole, robbed and killed to spread his message. Besides that, he was a purported pedophile with multiple wives.
Yes, I can see the similarity!

If John Kerry is wanting us in a war in the Middle East or if he thinks that our government should spend money to promote peaceful Islam, how does it change the reality of the situation to me or those being killed if it's some nefarious group telling him to do these things for an ulterior motive?

Wouldn't it be ridiculous if non-Christians were telling a nation of non-Christians what "real Christianity" was?

Isn't that what atheists and liberals like Obama are doing?

And why Brooklyn?
Because I live in and know Brooklyn well, and I am familiar with numerous individuals from a nearby population who collectively identifies as Muslim.

Why not Philadelphia, Seattle, or Dearborn?
I have not spent any significant time in either of these three cities with their Muslim populations. I have no firsthand knowledge of these people, so if I talked about them as if I knew what I was talking about, I'd be acting like you, and I'm better than that because you live in a trailer and I don't.

This administration sure seems hell bent to separate Islam from ISIL.

Kinda hard to do when they call themselves the Islamic State..

But they sure are trying. And looking really dumb too.

I have.

Dumbass.

I just don't use that as some ridiculous superiority. Which is what you did. You made a totally incorrect judgment call that somehow your life experiences made you more knowledgeable than me, based on your own stupid perception of me. In reality, odds are very very high that I am more well-traveled than you.

Just want to point out, just as there are many different sects of christianity, there are just as many of islam.

I mean, do you want to be associated with WBC? Do they represent your views?

I love this argument. If the worst thing you can come up with in Christianity is the freaking WBC then Christianity is so far ahead of the game. I mean, you're trying to make an analogy between a group that pickets funerals for publicity and a group that records BEHEADINGS. Does that feel disingenuous to anyone else?
