Our country is damn near an island. If enemies reach out mainland, it's b/c you guys allowed them to come in.

EMP attacks, cyber, etc of course those are threats. But it goes both ways. There are other ways to handle things than starting war after war.

Who the frick are "you guys"? What excludes you from the equation?

IMO, the only way this nation falls is from within.

I've stated in many of my post, that failure in our homes will be the down fall of the nation. No nation will ever rise above its homes.

“The history of nations shows that the cycle of the body politic slowly but surely undergoes change . . .

It progresses –
From bondage to spiritual faith
From spiritual faith to courage
From courage to freedom
From freedom to abundance
From abundance to selfishness
From selfishness to complacency
From complacency to apathy
From apathy to fear
From fear to dependency
From dependency to bondage.”

That's deep. Seems like a reasonable broad view on the possible cycles of human nature over time within proper self examination. Nice input

John McCains brain is adled. Since 1945, that's a major instability every 6 years, on average

No troll here. I am a 30 year card carrying, right leaning independent who believes that good democracy requires good debate to get to the best answers. I defend McCain not so much for his politics, but for you calling him a Douche. In the Vietnam era, we lost 58,000 soldiers in a unpopular war. There were few parades for millions of our returning soldiers, Marines, and Airmen. Instead many were spit on, insulted, and ridiculed as outcasts. For the same reason that this was wrong, I don't call veterans names. As example, Trumps NSA, Flynn, has gone off the deep end with his warped approach and radicaliztion, but I don't call him a douche.

John McCain: Total Douche

The man is a decorated war hero. He passed up chances to be released from a POW camp so others could be released before he was. He has served with honor and distinction for multiple terms in the U.S. Senate. He has more than once been a serious candidate for President of the United States and even won the Republican nomination for that office in 2008. He is, in every possible way, a supremely accomplished man with a distinguished and impressive career. He has served and bettered the lives of millions of Americans. Yet, here on an obscure internet message board is you, having accomplished exactly jack shite your whole fricking life, calling him a "total douche".

What in the living frick has happened to you far-right morons?

Just because a guy was honorable 40 years ago, doesn't mean he has continued to earn that honor

Charlie Crist was an honored governor of Fla, should the Republicans glow over his service now that he has become a turncoat? Should LSU erect a statue for Saban?

McCain has fought harder against Trump, than he ever did against Obama or either Clinton

I never really liked McCain politically, but I appreciate some of what you said, especially related to the first two sentences.

I really wish I could take back my vote for him in 2008.

I wouldn't have voted for Obama, but it would really clear my conscience to know I didn't vote for that fricker.

It's funny though, Trump's rise bewilders a guy like McCain when a big part of the answer to that can be solved by simply looking into a mirror.

Ive accomplished far more than McCain, who spent his whole life living off the government tit. His most productive period was as a POW in a communist prison.

As a senator, he led efforts to cease POW MIA operations in Vietnam, he has championed every war since he has been alove and he hasn't drawn a non taxpayer funded check that wasn't signed by a gulf arab state in is entire wretched existence.

Throw is arse back in the Hanoi Hilton for all I give a frick.
