I have a theory WRT why McCain is so out-spoken against Trump's agenda. McCain's daughter is a rather new talking head on the "cable news station" circuit. By staying in the public eye and getting publicity for himself by any means necessary, he is helping his daughter in her professional career. Keeping the "McCain is a Maverick" theme out there helps the OTHER McCain: Meghan McCain.

American exports to where, exactly?

Are we exporting dishwashers to Vietnam? T-shirts to Malaysia?

Who knows? One thing we do know for certain is that Trump just endorsed 18,000 tariffs from these countries on American exports, as well as limiting our ability to enforce IP protection in APAC.

So pulling out of a deal we never ratified is going to cost jobs? Interesting.

Let me re-phrase, it will cost potential jobs.

And our largest trading partners are China and Mexico, by far. If we start imposing tariffs on them, it will cost us actual jobs, since almost assuredly there will be retaliation.

Not when offset against the potential jobs created by the bilateral agreements that will now be negotiated if we're going the alternate reality route.

Welcome to the wonderful other side of the coin of a trade imbalance. Guess who gets shitkicked in a trade war with trade balances like what we have with Mexico and China?

Member12 condemns McCain for being a colossal moron.

I like an respect his military service, but there's a reason George W. Bush was chosen over McCain in the 2000 primaries.

How ironic would it be for Louisiana to suffer economically because of Trump policies? No worries, it's citizens can take solace in the fact that Mexicans won't go there for jobs.

Also, Japan is Louisiana's 4th largest trading partner, which was in TPP. Louisiana's job base is heavily dependent on exports, because we benefit from the Mississippi River and our port system and bring in factories that like to export products. So hopefully we can forge a bi-lateral trade agreement with Japan, but Trump withdrawing from TPP means Louisiana just lost jobs. No way around that.

While I'm not 100% certain of that, virtually zero people on here have considered this.

CNN had on a republican that was sorely disappointed in dumping TPP. Screw these GOPe cucks to hell! The republicans know damn well that Trump won because union democrats and all working class rust belters wanted TPP dumped. The union did not turn out the vote for HRC-- because she was for it.

These shady GOPe'ers have already lined their slush funds with lobbyists $$$$$$; they don't give a rats arse about the middle class.

You mean after Louisiana's economy was shattered by US Energy policy over the last 8 years? Any loss from TPP will be more than offset by the energy outlook under DJT.

My goodness I would give anything to see Trump put this fricker in his place.
I say, chances are very good that Trump publicly excoriates and humiliated both McCain and Tinkerbell at the appropriate place and time, like maybe, the SOTU speech.

McCain needs an aneurysm.

SOTU Address should be entertaining. I have a feeling Trump will call these people out. If you all thought his inauguration speech was executed beautifully just wait.
