He'll have the big money. I think he has made it clear that he expects that tea party folks won't support him. My guess is that he wins the primary and runs a very close race with HRC. He may be the only R that can beat her. Since the Clinton-Bush families are now very close this will be an interesting race to watch. If it comes to fruition perhaps we can finally have a somewhat civil race that focuses on issues. How novel would that be!

you suck at character estimation. Mitt came off like a used car salesman to most of the nation.

Yeah, I didn't doubt his intentions. He wants what is best for the country. But the dude came off as a slimeball in my estimation.

I don't think he came out like that at all.

I do think there was a connection problem, but I think people just felt he was forcing it instead of being genuine, which is probably true. He just isn't able to really show how he is around his family and friends in public appearances, and that sucks.

As for this board, a lot still don't like Mitt and think he's akin to Obama, which is bizarre. I get the knock on him as a moderate Republican, which is true.

But to me, he is a very competent guy capable of leadership with the desire to see the country rebuild and excelling. That's more important to me than having someone who can check the Tea Party boxes but is despised by half the country, has no aptitude for foreign policy and may have competency issues.

I'm betting this spells a few things

1. Repubs won't do shite on immigration reform no matter their rhetoric
2. Social conservatives will hopefully be pushed to the side
3. GOP knows they are fricked bc they've cultivated the crazy garden for too long
4. Rand Paul has no higher aspirations and won't dip into this
5. Wall Street is still king

Probably true. Not sure what is feasible here anyway.

2. Social conservatives will hopefully be pushed to the side

We'll see if there is backlash. Social conservatives lining up behind Huckabee would be both amusing and potential disastrous to some of the other good candidates.

3. GOP knows they are fricked bc they've cultivated the crazy garden for too long

Not really.

4. Rand Paul has no higher aspirations and won't dip into this

Doubt it.

5. Wall Street is still king

Of course, and on both sides.

From what I've read, Bush was a pretty decent governor of Florida.

I think a lot of you just won't be able to get past the name.

Lol. It's like fricking Groundhog Day.

No, we won't. According to the Republicans, Hillary will be trying to institute Stalinism. And according to the Democrats, Jeb Bush will want to put black people in camps. It never changes.

Jeb Bush formally announces formation of a Presidential Campaign Committee

Glad to hear it. The more candidates the better. At this point in time, there is no Republican anywhere close to even being considered "the early leader" for the nomination, so let's hear from each of them and let the primary voters make the decision.

If Bush does formally enter the race next year, it could scramble the field. A Bush candidacy would certainly complicate plans for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who is considering a presidential bid of his own and planning a book tour in early 2015. Rubio served as speaker of the Florida state House when Bush was governor, and they both would be expected to begin a campaign by tapping the same pool of Florida donors and supporters.

There are many questions around Bush, who hasn't won elected office since 2002, two years before Facebook even existed. He governed as a fiscal conservative but some of his stances—namely, on immigration and the Common Core educational standards—are out of step with the current GOP base.

(TwentySixteen: Get the latest 2016 news in your inbox)

Bush has signaled, however, that he doesn't plan to pivot rightward in an effort to win the GOP primaries, saying at a recent forum in Washington that a Republican nominee should be willing to "lose the primary to win the general."

That attitude has struck fear into some of the Democratic strategists hoping to guide former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton into the White House. They see the Spanish-speaking Bush, who won two terms in the crucial presidential state of Florida, as a formidable foe who could cut into some crucial Democratic constituencies.

In the Facebook post, Bush trotted out something close a slogan saying he hoped to begin a conversation about "restoring the promise of America."

Hilary Clinton will be the Dem candidate, there is zero chance I will vote for her, anyone with any sense of decency after hearing her brag about the tricks she used to plead down the rapist, pedophile she represented should not either.

She has also shown herself to be incompetent as Secy of State, and completely uncaring for those that worked for her there, her dramatic acting show at the hearing aside. The families of the dead in Benghazi know first hand she doesn't care.

So I will vote for any Republican who opposes this morally bankrupt, greedy, grasping for power at any cost, individual, even if I have to hold my nose when I cast my ballot.

Bin Laden declared War on the U.S. during Clinton's admin, it was ignored.

ISIS has declared War on the U.S. and BO has chosen to ignore this fact as he continues to cut the budget for defense.

Clinton's response to Bin Laden's declaration was to send a few ineffective bombs in his direction.
Obama's, well, he has no strategy to defeat an enemy that has declared war on us, except to half arse support the Kurds presently fighting them.

So please wake up, you have to realize whether we want one or not, and noone with any sense wants to have a war.
But the fact is War has been declared against us. We are at WAR.
Ignoring it like Clinton did wont make it go away.

We are going to crush Rand.

The libertarian wing might get him as VP as a constipation prize.

There is no possibility at all that a Republican nominee would select Rand as his running mate, and no possibility at all that Rand would accept such an offer if it were to be made.

True. Romney is someone that was not a good politician but would have been a great president.

It is unfortunate that voters preferred the "sizzle over the steak".
Prefer to believe comfortable lies over hard truths.

Remember Romney spoke of Russia's global aspirations during the last campaign, and all the Dems, including Hilary, laughed at him.
Remember BO telling the Russians to wait until after the election?,( now you know what that was about, don't you.)
Of course Mitt was right about Russia.

Romney would have sold american off to foreign interests much faster than Obama is.

That's all he had to offer.
