The gas tax is a given and I hear there are enough Republicans to pass it.

Processing is where the cushion is, only a couple of states are stupid enough to allow that process, they aren't going anywhere

Why is it horrible we are being taxed for road maintenance and only 11% of what we pay is going toward that purpose????

The extra $.15 they are considering would make us on par with Connecticut and California.... and don't forget we also have the highest sales tax in the nation.

Alario, Fannin and Martiny needs to be run out of of town on hot poker sticks. I will never understand how their districts have never wised up to the bullshite they keep pulling that's most decidedly not conservative at all.

We need tolls on the interstates and we need to build a toll road parallel to I-10 passing North of BR crossing the river in St. Francisville going from Vinton to Bogalusa(the Zachary Taylor Toll Road). We could then build short toll roads between I-10 and the ZTTR giving BR the loop they want.

This would take a tremendous amount of traffic off of I-10 as the traffic wishing to go North into the Midwest and the NorthEast from points west would want to take the toll road just to avoid traffic to get to I-55 and I-59.

Ive got to move out of this state.

We are losing left and right at opportunities to grow by taxing business and giving companies shite hole educations, roads, traffic etc to recruit their employees.

Doesn't La. have one of the largest bureaucracies of any State, per capita? And y'all keep electing crooked, crony politicians like Edwards.

Louisiana has never been fiscally conservative.

Just because you're a republican doesn't mean you're a conservative.

A lot of sleazy and crooked democrats in this state just simply changed the letter next to their name to R to survive in a red arse Louisiana and it couldn't be any more pathetic being something they're not just to hang onto power.

Scott Angelle is one good example and that couldn't have been more apparent considering he never attacked Vitter on conservative issues so he went straight into the gutter into character assassination for six months. It worked pretty well for him obviously but it also worked too well against him as not only did he not make the Governor's runoff, he also lost to a YouTube reality star cop in Clay fricking Higgins.

Kenny Matassa in the AP is another good example too and look at him up shite creek now.

I know but there are a lot of good people here trying to change that and the first thing to do is get rid of the republicans that supposedly call themselves fiscally conservative that keep raising taxes and spending money we don't have.

But then again, all of this has to start with a culture change.

I don't mind paying more in a fuel tax provided the new monies will be 100% dedicated to road and bridge projects. And there's an attempt to allocate more than the 11% currently.

JBE is one of the worst Governors in the past 50 years and that's saying something following Jindal.
