Shortly after 9/11, I saw the janitor from my health club behind the metal detector at my local airport representing the TSA. Dude could not form a complete sentence but yet there he was in his blue uniform.

Hell no. The risk ratio would make it not worth doing anything at all for the sake of the bottom line. I don't agree with much of what is considered the responsibility of the government. However, I see basic security as one of those responsibilities. I just don't agree with the current methods or effectiveness.
I would prefer no security at all to these asshats. Have someone check my ID to make sure the ticket matches and let me go on my way. The lines to get through security are almost as big a targets as the airliners themselves. Just drop a few pipe bombs in middle of the line at O'hare on a big travel day and there you go. Hundreds of casualties and you didn't have to go through one single layer of security.

While you may be accused of wearing a tin foil hat, it does make sense. Get everyone used to the waits and invasive searches at airports initially, then down the road implement them in more everyday places.
