Why not force these people to preform community service, and pay fines rather than add them to our enormous prison pop?
It appears that's similar to what most of the group got.

So apparently this couple went further, with the the actual deadly threats--further exacerbated by the deadly weapons part.

13 years does seem harsh, but of all the sentencing ridiculousness we see, including in Georgia, this seems like a strange one to rile people up.

That said, this is absurd. The whole concept of a "verbal hate crime" is repulsive, imo.
Why do people keep saying "hate crime?" There were no have crime charges, and apparently they don't even exist in Georgia anyways.

I admit the sentences for those two seem harsh, but a bunch of people are getting riled up regarding essentially "fake facts."

Because the DM link was awful, and didn't list the actual charges, three of which are felonies in Georgia.

Hate crime is only a couple to 5 years added to sentence but because you are found guilty of a hate crime you have to serve full term. No parole or time off for good behavior.

So they read a British tabloid story with a lack of details which should have immediately raised red flags. Made worse that the "hate crime" part was added by the OP apparently.

And then they just accept it as fact, even with those red flags? And I even posted a more detailed story, just one of probably hundreds a 2 second search could have revealed, and they still ignorant that?

Yet, many will pretend that they are bothered by "fake news" then accept clearly questionable news as irrefutable fact.

Well that's good information, but not at all relevant to this story since there aren't hate crime charges.

Last I looked hate and crime were in the topic subject line. So I was speaking on that. Is that ok with you?

Yes. The thread title was misleading so I'm trying to ensure the "fake facts" are known to be fake.

I don't necessarily have issues with the sentences in a bubble.

But mostly, it's annoying to watch guilty white liberals celebrating this while laughably ignoring the fact that the overwhelming majority of interracial crime (including plenty of brazenly violent crime) in this metro area is black on white and goes entirely undiscussed for PC reasons.

That's assault in a lot of states. I'm assuming this is the case in Georgia and the judge gave them the max considering the circumstances.

All signs point to them not being jailed for displaying Confederate flags.

Daily Mail is semi-reliable at best.

Maybe this is a more straight forward rendition of the case and has a picture of the judge.

Thanks for the info. I didnt read the Mail story. Was that information included?
No it had an inexcusable lack of detail.

Yeah this is one of those cases where the sentence might be harsh, but I'm going to waste 0 time defending them.

So you think that "death threats" are protected speech, expecially in this case, when there is a firearm involved?

Because that's the "speech" that got them arrested.

Honest question, do you think Madonna should serve time in prison?

Decades in prison for being a retard and yelling n*gger?

I mean they are dumb as the day is long, but there HAS to be something I'm missing.

Exactly. I whole hardheartedly think they're trash, but something is missing if this story is true, and if it is, zero chance it isn't overturned.
