Just curious. If so, here's your chance to be bold and predict it now.

I dont.

But I would not hesitate to use the nuclear option to get him confirmed. Gorsuch may be confirmed without it but if Trump gets to replace another one, especially if it is Ginsburg, they will have to get rid of the filibuster. There is no way the democrats would allow a conservative to replace her.

I personally hope that when Ginsburg retires or dies Trump nominates Ted Cruz for her spot. The senate conservatives would love to get Cruz out of the senate and he would be a great justice who would not think of the constitution as something that should change with the times.

He will be confirmed because forcing the nuclear option isn't an option for the Democrats.

One way or the other he will be a justice.

50/50 Dimocrats so butt hurt they filibuster and get Reid ruled, or political common sense gives enough dim votes to reach exactly 60 on cloture and 52-48 approval.

I want Reid so more conservative judges can slide smoothly through.
And, I just like to do the MAGA dance of joy!

1st) the so called nuclear option is ALL the constitution ever required.

2nd) if the democrats force it then everything in the Senate will change to simple majority except for the constitutional requirement of 2/3 Senate for a constitutional amendment

3rd) The democrats will go nuclear for everything anyway once they get the majority again. The cat is already out of the bag

4th) The Republican's would be fools not to use it because of 3.

5th) The Republicans have already shown they are willing to go the path of simple majority in confirming Trumps cabinet members.

Democrats are retarded but still able to see there is no sense in making McConnell go nuclear over Gorsuch.

They will do it for Kennedy or RBG. "Repubs destroying the Senate so they can pack the court with extremists!"

By that time they will have a few Gorsuch decisions on record so they can say, "We allowed Gorsuch and look what happened!"

I don't neccesarily like the simple majority being enogh to confirm a Justice, BUT given the fact that we know that those on left are going to sue every single time Trump even looks at them askance, we MUST make sure we have a conservative majority on the Court.

Do what you must to get him confirmed.

It is all the founders of our constitution ever required.
I would also say the day the "filibuster is finally dead will help usher in the day of more political parties and cause coalitions to have to be built to form a working government.

Don't forget this point either. The constitution does not define how many supreme court justices we can have.

Any president and congress could stack the court at any time they wished to do so.

Per the Constitution 2/3rds vote also needed to approve treaties or to impeach.

FDR tried to but was rebuffed.

However, after that point, the SCOTUS seemingly started to find "Constitutional grounds" for his often un-Constitutional acts.

Actually I think an expansion would be good. One Justice for each Circuit Court of Appeal plus one Chief Justice.

Is there anyone here who wants to bet that Roe v. Wade will be overturn within two years?

I doubt it will be overturn. It may be overturned but I doubt it.

Just get public money out of the tiny human killing business and kill away with your own money or the money from supporters like you.

Seems like a fair resolution.

LOL that would be a good compromise, but we can't have compromise in this country today. It's virtually impossible. And what's more, no one in Congress even wants to
