Ironic--JBE talks about an "epic failure in leadership" as he doesn't get his way

Meanwhile the small bridge on a heavily traveled state road over the Tangipahoa River damaged during the flood 10 months ago called the Dunnington Bridge remains out of service.

What irony to hear this administrative amateur talk about leadership?

Probably shouldn't have said that

Couple that with his stupid arse "cancel LSU football" quote and that's the easiest political ad for his opponents to make

To misquote EWE, the only way for JBE to win reelection, would be for his opponent to be caught in bed with a live boy or dead girl!

If David Vitter didn't run such a shitty campaign and underestimate how many gullible people would buy JBE's moderate blue dog bullshite, we would not be suffering this moronic bumpkin's inept leadership that has only killed jobs, drove economic investment out of state and made our wallets lighter.

Road between Ascendion and Iberville by EBR still out too.

JBE expects to set his agenda and have others push it through. When does he lead?

He wil not pay what it takes to get bridges quickly repaired thinking he will get federal money to help. Meanwhile the traffic is being diverted onto roads that will be wearing out much quicker than they should and we will be paying for that too.

He is right. The House leadership sat in a corner with their arms folded like children and prevented a budget from being passed.

No, the house leadership met jbe more than halfway and had an agreement. Jbe then pulled a switch and sent a nonstarter budget back to the house at last minute.

JBE is wrong. In order to have an "epic failure in leadership" there must be some actual leadership somewhere.

There is no leadership in Baton Rouge. None. None in the governor's office, none in the House, none in the Senate. Barras and Alario aren't qualified to run a turd collection business, much less a legislative body. And Gov. Peter Principle, well, bless his heart. Y'all are right, he makes Blanco look competent.

Not only should these bat rastards in the legislature NOT get a per diem for this special session, they should be required to fork over each 1/3 of the cost of this special session out of their own pockets. the governor can put in the other third.

While I agree with the idea of holding back some money... the reality is that it's a tough thing to cut spending while saying, hey, we have some extra money.

The unforced error in the house was blocking a vote on the Senate budget. They should have held a vote at 5 pm. Vote it down if they must... but they should have held a vote. By not voting on it, and instead Cameron Henry literarly and actually running and hiding, they open themselves up to charges that they are simply obstructionists who don't actually want to do anything.

Once again the LA GOP proves that while they may have some good ideas, they are absolutely horrific at the whole political and governing thing.

Taylor Barras single handedly won the battle against tax increases by himself against JBE and Alario and has been doing a good job as Speaker. If he wasn't forced to be working with shitheads like Alario and JBE, he would be an even better Speaker.

He's the first truly independent Speaker of the Louisiana Statehouse of Reps and that distinction has shown real dividends.

he's independent all right

It's not his job to be a rebel. It's his job to lead his House to do the necessary business of the people. In that regard, he has failed miserably.

So he stood the line on tax increases. Good. But clearly you must see there is a difference between blocking bad ideas, and promoting good ones?

Where are his ideas to actually cut spending and reorganize state government? Where are his ideas on anything?

Being a leader means more than just saying NO to every dumbass idea that JBE and Alario have. It also means being able to push your own ideas, and get people behind them. In that regard... he's completely useless.

I know some of you have such a complete lack of faith in government, that a non-functioning government is perfectly ok for you, because it means the government isn't screwing you over. Some of us would actually like to see a functioning government, by and of the people.

He sent a budget to the Senate a month ago. How is that a failure?

The Senate saying NO at the request of JBE to every solution the House presents to the budget is certainly lack of leadership.
