So we should just be mildly annoyed at what Hamas did on 10/7? It wasn’t “bad enough” to justify rendering Hamas, and the population that supports them, completely impotent to engage in further hostilities?

Don't bother. LW was desperate in the OT thread trying to convince people that the IDF is evil and Palestinians/Hamas aren't really doing anything bad because someone once told him that they were threatened by the IDF.

To seize on one traumatized soldier's exaggerated claim about babies on a clothesline, and use it in an effort to discredit recounted facts of Oct7 Hamas atrocities is sickening.

The clip depicts three different people.
The problem is that this appears to be a fairly common phenomenon in the aftermath of the attack, or at least, the false claims that were made were quickly repeated by the media in conjunction with the government.
As Mickey Rosenfel, who was a police spokesman, says in the clip
"The war is not only military, not only political, it’s mainly media"
This is a redux of the rape of Belgium, or the Iraqi incubator murders.

On 10/7 the Israelis panicked, and so you have the stories from Apache pilots saying they were ordered to attack anything that moved, and accordingly fired on cars without knowing who was in them, or the reports of tanks firing rounds into buildings without identifying who was inside. It was a clusterfrick. The attack helicopters probably explain the torched cars at the festival.

The Apache video has been shown to be not depicting what conspiracy theorists originally claimed.
The 20% FF is of soldiers in Gaza (20% of 100 soldier deaths). Nothing to do with October 7. Statistically speaking I'm sure that at least one, of the more than 1,000+ deaths on October 7, was due to friendly fire, but not in the quantity that you’re trying to claim.
