We sure didn't hear you whining about checks and balances when that jug-eared Kenyan was hollering about his pen and phone.

And some of those pen and phone actions were tested in the courts and found wanting....that is the way the system works. I'm sure Obama didn't like it and I am sure some of his supporters were pissed about it....but that is how the system works.

I sincerely doubt if this one backfires on the current president that the effect is much different. Some of you who FEEL Trump is infallible will act like Obama supporters who FELT the same way about their man...but the rest of us will debate the merits or simply get on with life...

I don't think there are enough "Trump at any cost" supporters who will be pissed enough that this is the issue that drives them over the brink....

On the other hand the leftists bent on obstructing anything Trump...the Tea Party equivalent of the left...will claim this as either a major victory OR proof that the "fascists" have taken over and that law no longer matters....meanwhile normal people who vote but do not expect the people they vote for to be Gods will scratch our heads and try our best to get on with life....

This is the bottom line that goes over the heads of Donald's subjects. Like him, most don't even understand basic civics.

I know y'all don't like checks and balances anymore but we have a President, not a King. He can't just do whatever he wants.

Sorry, this isn't communist China. The people have a voice. And they are the ultimate check and balance. He openly campaigned on immigration reform, including the ban. It has been no secret. The people voted for him to do the very things he said he would do. He won the election fairly under the guidelines of the constitution. And he is doing those very things.

I see your Rant idiocy carries over to this board.

I never said none of Obama's pen and phone dictatorial moves were overturned.

I simply said you libs never pulled your mouth off his nuts long enough to question one of them.

The will of the few is being placed ahead of the majority. Kind of like what the electoral college was designed to prevent in the elections. Couple of lawsuits can force this on the entire country...pathetic.

point has nothing to do with wanting, or not wanting, "them" in. Our biggest threat right now, IMO, is the growing percentage who are willing to let a wannabe authoritarian (and his 2 lunatic advisors) go unchecked in the name of "safety".

Do you think they pose a threat?

You want to stop trump even if he is doing smething right just so he do3s not go unchecked?

Should Trump have the same powers and latitude as Obama had?

Were you conerned about an unchecked lunatic for the last 8 years?

Do you think Trump is and should he be motivated what is best for the US and not others?

The Republicans control the White House, the Senate, the House, the Supreme Court, the majority of governor's offices, the majority of state houses, etc. There is a mandate and there has been a complete rejection of liberal ideas at every level. A few dozen cities do not control the nation's stance on issues. Sorry.

Checks and balances are not a threat to the country. Idiots who are willing to trade checks and balances in for "safety" promised by an authoritarian are the problem.

But you can't check an actual power given to the president by the constitution, genius boy. That is the very definition of abuse of power.

If they're rational checks. I don't believe this is a rational check to the President's authority. It's emotionally and not legally driven.
