I'm well aware of his opposition to the clintons. But would he go so far as to support trump? I honestly don't know. It's a very interesting question.

Sam Harris actually did a 3 hour long podcast on why he thinks Hitchens would vote for Hillary Clinton despite all the horrible shite he's said about the Clintons. He made a good point and I think Hitchens (while being drug kicking and screaming) would have voted for Hillary over Trump. If not Hillary, then he wouldn't have voted.

I don't melt over stupid shite like that. You can be glad he died all you want and masquerade as being a "Christian" but it's painfully obvious how much he made you melt. RIP hitchens, your hitchslap videos are priceless

He pretty much shut down any person that tried to debate him on religion but in a very eloquent way. Once in a lifetime intellectual and debater. Will be drinking a Johnny walker black in memory.

Even this atheist admitted that William Lane Craig bettered Hitchens in a debate.

quote:

I'm sure most of you saw the Hitchens/Craig debate. I thought that one went terrible, Hitchens could have done a much better job. I don't think Hitchens was prepared for what Bill presented, and he made Hitchens look really sloppy.

Alvin Plantinga is much more intelligent than Craig so I think he would have run circles around Hitchens. There are much smarter and more capable atheists in a debate. Anthony Flew was even much better though he is largely ignored now since he eventually admitted that there is too much evidence for theism.

I will give Hitchens some credit....

He never held back against Islam. When the majority of loudmouth atheist attack religion it's almost 100% anti-Christianity. Hitchens derided them all equally. He's been called a neo-con because he's so adamant that Islamic extremism is evil and must be destroyed.

I loved listening to Hitch. But if I only had one 'bring back to life' it would be Milton Friedman to discuss Obama's economy.

Huh? Do you listen to Sam's podcast? He is most certainly not a Trump supporter. He did multiple podcast explaining why trump would be a terrible president. He voted for Hilary.

See, I read that as the OP referring to himself.

Agreed with Hitchens on some things, disagreed on others, but it was really interesting to listen to this takes.

Here's an old snippet from Firing Line with William F. Buckley, another great thinker I could sit and listen to for hours on end.

For a brainiac, he sure wasted brain power on visceral pursuits such as telling people things that aren't percieveable aren't real...
then got drunk...dumbass.

Barney on the Simpsons is his legitimate equivalent.

If he was so fricking smart, where is 0-point energy?
