That is a product of unions.

Huh? That makes no sense. Care to explain?

The players union wants to keep the players underpaid? You do realize the power of the MLB players union is a big reason there is still no salary cap in baseball.

The payment scales (max, min, cap) are all a result of collective bargaining.

Unions focus on payments as a collective. Very frequently, the bottom of the barrel are overpaid, while the high achievers are underpaid.

Are you using MLB as an example of a union that has benefitted the industry...or the consumer?

When was the last time the middle class could not watch a game at virtually no cost? The price I pay to go to a game is offset by all the games I watch for free.

The reason you can watch a game for free on your TV is because of two guys named Vladmir Zworkon and Lee DeForest. Before TV there was a thing called 'attending the game.'

It was a different experience. Poor kids could do it....every day. TV doesn't replace the experience of watching batting practice; fielding practice; and getting autographs from Stan or Mickey.

Poor kids can still go to games. A ticket to an MLB game in the nosebleeds is like $5-$10.

Well, it is obvious that you can't run a 4.4 40 and bench 225lbs 24 times. It's not as obvious that you're an idiot. Everyone thinks they can be a good CEO.

You can get terrace seats for a Cardinals game for $10.50 each. That's hardly out of reach for the middle class.

The majority of people think pro sports salaries are outrageous and out of control, so that kind of hurts your point.

And a lot of the time people get upset when CEO's receive their bonuses, raises, or otherwise large salary when the companies received subsidies, bailout money, tax breaks ect.

NFL I can agree with because there's only 16 games.

But the MLB and NBA you can catch most games for around 10 bucks....even less if you go to something like stubhub.

In both instances I am sure the organization is paying what it feels is a fair value based on what that person will do for the organization. In Detroit of all places, an organization is paying someone over $200 million for the next 10 years… don't get me wrong I am happy for that person, but wonder what the outcry would be if he were a white CEO who just signed that kind of contract…

I haven't seen democrats get upset over $5M. At least not recently.

You're right, in a way.
Robber baron levels comprising """the 1%""" start at about $340K.

Nope. Those things are promotions. Like 'free ball day'. You have to have the kids accompanied by parents who pay full price and parking. Back in the day kids went to the games alone. No parents. Fifty cents.

Wow, I didn't know that tickets were now bifurcated between adults and children. That's kinda creepy.
Edit...Are you going? Who's pitching?

What about the movie stars, rappers, and other entertainers the left is constantly sucking the dicks/labias of? Why in the frick do they need that much money? And what value do they bring to mankind other than shitty music, shitty movies, and tabloid news rags?
Athletes and actors getting paid millions is a 20th century invention. Prior to that, they were considered very low, socially, and while people liked what they did, they were not thought of as good careers.

As a result, their shallow, narcissistic values come to the forefront as attributes to be admired.
