I see them on Twittet and 4 chan but they can't be all that big? I looked up the numbers on Google and most sites that keep track have no idea? The media acts like its 10 million the way they over exaggerate. The movement is more trolling than an actual membership Imo.

Thoughts?

Very little if your definition of the alt-right is a white nationalist.

I'm not sure there is a clear consensus definition.

You can't start counting until you have that nailed down.

There is no "alt-right"

It's simply a new label liberals have come up with to try and demonize people who disagree with their cannibal philosophy.

As far as people who would actually attend local meetings and listen to intellectual discourse about genealogy and heritage? I'd say no more than 1 million in the entire country.

It's mostly people like me who have a fringe issue (stopping Islamic migration here and in Europe) who see a common ally and enjoy the media hysteria re: the alt-right and like to trigger them. I'd say there's at least another 2.5 million like me - maybe another 7 million who are even more casual than I am.

I love Milo and agree that we need to stand up for Western culture but I was very uncomfortable with that "Heil victory" stuff from this weekend with that Richaed pseudo intellectual guy. I'm more comfortable with Cernovich and Milo.

I'm probably more paleocon myself, but I'm always happy to have my alt-right brothers by my side.

Well, Richard Spencer and NPI just marginalized it, so there are fewer today than there were last week.

These neo Nazis need to realize that, while they can usefully move the Overton window to the right, they themselves can't take the lead in any meaningful movement.

I am pretty liberal social issues, and pretty conservative on other issues.

Where does that land me

Probably equal to the number of the alt-left idiots who are protesting Trump everyday.

I posted this on Texags, but here are the definitions:

There are 3 definitions of the Alt Right:

1. What the liberals consider to be the Alt Right.

This definition to liberals just means all conservatives and everyone who voted for Trump (hence the Deplorables comment). This is a continuation of the fact that liberals have been calling conservatives racist for years now.

2. What internet normies who think they're Alt Right consider to be the Alt Right.

These are the people that are anti-SJW, like to troll, and who supported Trump. These people only know about the Alt Right from a surface level standpoint. However, this group is now leaning towards nationalism and have entirely rejected the GOPe.

3. What people who are actually Alt Right consider to be the Alt Right.

This is the core group that has developed the majority of the memes, typically leads all Twitter trends, is rabidly nationalist, and uses the previously liberal tactics of "No Enemies to the Right" and "Rules for Radicals" This group is composed of a number of different people.

Ultimately the Alt Right is mostly a cohesive group composed of a loose collection of paleocons, ****lords, Nazis, monarchists, recovering libertarians, fascists, normie right-wingers and a number of other anti-left, anti-PC people. There are legit white nationalists in the group and there are even some white supremacists in it, but these two are not the majority. The last group of people above do not denounce these people for the same reason the liberals do not denounce communists, anarchists, ecoterrorists, etc. etc. That is, it's because liberals are trying to divide and conquer the movement. Just look at how liberals will defend anyone on the left provided they actually subscribe to leftist ideals. They will make excuses for their actions repeatedly because they understand that unity is the only thing that will keep them going. This is what the Core Group of the Alt Right is doing now.
