I felt bad for him watching it just now. He moves his head with his words like a teenage girl and just looks like he’s trying way too hard. Why can’t he just drop out and let Abraham win outright?

State needs someone with a vision. Not someone who can do nothing but tout supposed “conservative” bonafides.

I just watched it and it looked perfectly fine to me. Not sure what you found odd about it.

First time I’ve ever heard or seen this guy. No way I’m voting for him. Cow towing to the simpletons is embarrassing. What about state issues ???

I thought this thread was going to be about the lesbian soccer player. I watched the video anyway and now I am even more confused. How is it possible her 15 minutes hasn't expired?

It’s pretty bad. The comment about the trump sticker on the truck is just lame.

Sorry but Rispone needs to raise the bar.

My first impression about Rispone was that he was pandering way too hard. He might be a decent candidate but he needs to bring more to the table than “rah rah Trump”.

I didn’t see anything awkward in this commercial. It’s an introduction commercial. In addition to finding out he’s a bow hunter, we get to learn a few important additional facts about him.

Rispone basically said he’s not a GOPe cuck, like the morons who helped JBE beat Vitter. He’s conservative, an outsider, and supports Trump. Check.
He said he wouldn’t accept sanctuary cities like New Orleans. Check.
He said he would oppose spending Louisiana money on illegal invaders. Check.

At this time I know I’m NOT voting for big government, tax and spending JBE. So I must choose between Abraham and Rispone. At this stage I’m leaning Abraham because I know a little more about him. But this is the first Rispone commercial I’ve seen and it’s only been out a couple of weeks.

I suspect you’re a Abraham supporter, and that great. But, it’s a little early to demand Rispone to drop out. As a matter of fact a three way jungle primary of Abraham, Rispone, and JBE is fine. JBE will have to meet up with the highest vote getter in the run off.

This worked out masterfully for the GOP last time.

Rispone is zero substance, and cannot win.

What’s the other guy, who’s not JBE, touting in the way of substance?

I will say this about the Louisiana R party. The best thing about it is that we haven’t had any true Republican force around long enough to have any true GOP establishment.

The truly entrenched dirtbags who have run Louisiana into the ground are all Democrats, or politicians who have been around long enough to be Republican converts from the Democrat Party. (Ex. John Alario).

I think the sole exception to that rule may be former gov, Mike Foster. He switched his party to R, when it was still a little bit rebellious to do so.

When it comes right down to it. louisiana is neither Democrat, nor Republican, liberal nor conservative. We’re populists, who like to give the middle finger to the rest of the country. Only a populist candidate can be a successful governor here. Louisiana politics are otherwise inexplicable.

Abraham has a congressional voting record that shows where he stand on a myriad of issues, that’s a start. I honestly don’t watch cable tv so I don’t see whatever ads he may have ran.

But Rispone cannot manage to portray anything but “I’m rich and I like Trump” in the moments I’ve seen him.

Exactly

90% of the voters have never heard of Eddie Rispone. He’s got to introduce himself. You have to let people know where you are coming from and what your basic principles are.

Running introductory commercials to paint himself as a conservative and a non politician makes all the sense in the world.

There’s plenty of time to get into the weeds and talk policy.

Rispone is dressed in jeans and is behind his pick up truck and all you took from that commercial was he’s rich and he’s like Trump?

He likes Trump, but he’s certainly not a suit or the type who would be comfortable on Wall Street.

While I don’t doubt your good intentions, you haven’t thought this through.

Let’s look at our 2014 Senate election.
Jungle Primary held November 4, 2014. (party, candidate, votes, % of vote)
Democratic Mary Landrieu (Incumbent) 619,402 42.08
Republican Bill Cassidy 603,048 40.97
Republican Rob Maness 202,556 13.76
Republican Thomas Clements 14,173 0.96
Libertarian Brannon McMorris 13,034 0.89
Democratic Wayne Ables 11,323 0.77
Democratic William Waymire 4,673 0.32
Democratic Vallian Senegal 3,835 0.26
Total votes 1,473,826 100

Then the run off held December 6, 2014.
Republican Bill Cassidy 712,379 55.93%
Democratic Mary Landrieu (Incumbent) 561,210 44.07%
Total votes 1,273,589 100.00%

This shows the advantages of multiple GOP challengers to a Democrat incumbent with multiple candidates in a jungle primary.

First, Democrats will always bring false charges against a GOP challenger during the race. See Alabama’s last Senate election and both of Trump’s Supreme Court nominations.
With multiple candidates if they take one out, the other can step up.

Second, there is only a month (November 4 to December 6) for them to try to use there expected politics of personal destruction!

Third, the last gubernatorial election was remarkable for two main reasons, Vitter’s fellow Republicans joined JBE in the personal destruction with the hookers. May all of them get their’s for this reprehensible act! And Vitter committed a stupid. He thought the hooker fiasco was behind him with his last Senate victory and he would not respond! He committed the cardinal sin of allowing his opponents of defining him.

Fourth, look how democrats and non-Republicans have joined the Abraham supporter in this thread in calling for the GOP field to be narrowed to one!

As long as Rispone and Abraham join in a combined attack on JBE while promoting their visions, the jungle primary will kick Bumpy Head JBE to the curb!

That commercial resonates with more people than you'd like to think.
