That hospital in Shifa is their military base. And they threaten to kill any reporter who reports that open secret.

Hamas should start hiding their weapons in Hillary's civilian area.

How can some people be so obtuse?

Of all the manifestations of the Isreal's tactics in this long simmering deathmatch with the Palestinians, how can a person not see the logic of a naval blockade to prevent your sworn enemy from receiving shipments of weapons?

I don't know if you're really that ignorant of the issues or you're unable to see past the Likud talking points. When Israel imposed the blockade on Gaza, Hamas had been obseving a ceasefire for 16 months, but Israel decided Hamas needed to be punished for having the nerve to win a free and fair election. Furthermore, as part of Hamas' truce proposal, it is willing to allow the U.S. military and/or the U.N. to patrol its borders and coast to gaurantee no weapons get in. The bottom line is that no people can prosper under the weight a permanent blockade, so the status quo that Israel is proposing with its ceasefire offer, is a nonstarter for Hamas.

and so the plight of a people Hamas supposedly fights for is sealed. So much for the Hamas humanitarian angle.

Let me get this straight. You think a permanent blockade is something the people of Gaza should just peacefully accept in perpetuity? Where the humanitarianism in that?

Do you support Hamas? Yes or no? Do you think Hamas is a terrorist organization? Yes or no?

That is a rather convenient fiction. Where do the Hamas fighters store their weapons, ammunition and other equipment? Do they have no armories or other places of assembly?

Their members live in regular houses and apartment buildings along with the rest of the Gazans.
Occupancy by Hamas fighters convert the houses and apartment buildings into barracks for the garrison of Gaza. Do the Hamas fighters store their weapons, ammunition and other equipment in their homes and make them de facto armories?

You have to know when to hold'em, know when to fold'em . . .

The Palestinians must identify a winning strategy.
Ankle biting at Israel is not that strategy, it is quite the opposite.

Hamas, if it were worth a shite as a political entity, would push for an economic transition. They'd economically partner Gaza and the West Bank with Arab counterparts, and with time even Israel. Would obviously involve a multifaceted approach. Aid dependent at first, then less so. Of course, as was the case with Arafat and the PLO, Hamas' leadership is too busy lining its pockets to pursue anything but business as usual.

So yes, unless they miraculously develop a navy, permanent blockade is something the people of Gaza should just accept in perpetuity.

This reminds me of the Congressman asking the navy during a hearing if stationing too many troops on Guam can cause the island to flip over

Do you know the advice Hitler gave to Lord Halifax about how to deal with Gandhi? Did you know that after spending time in South Africa, Gandhi himself concluded that passive resistance would work there? Are you aware of the pragmatic reasons that MLK gave for why he opposed violence? The Gandhi approach only works on people who have a conscious, but all it does is get you killed when you're dealing with barbarians such as Nazis, Likudniks, KKK, ISIS, Al Qaeda, Afrikaners, etc.

If you're saying that Hamas doesn't always do the most strategic thing, I agree with you, but do you deny that they have legitimate grievances?

How many instances in all of human history can you think of where one group of people peacefully accepted another group of people keeping their boots on their necks in perpetuity? Hell, the founders of this country rebelled over taxes, and you fault the Gazans for objecting a permanent naval blockade. Come on man.
