I'm just curious. I haven't. I don't personally know anyone who has, ever. I'm certainly not judging someone who as executed their right to do so. Just wanted to know if anyone ever has?

Nope... But will Next week! Massive march and protest from conservatives planned.

On Feb. 27 and March 4,

quote:

FreedomWorks plans to mobilize its network of grassroots organizations and unite with the Tea Party Patriots on March 15 for a “Day of Action” on Capitol Hill that will include a rally and visits to members of Congress.

So... fighting fire with fire time!

No. I'm busy. In fact, I'm so busy, that I support a whole family with my tax dollars every year. Did I mention that I don't have my own family yet?

Unlike other people in my age cohort, I don't protest and I do vote. It finally seems to be working.

OK. I read a little on that organization since I can't seem to sleep. They have an ambitious agenda! I can see why they are popular with alot of people. Do they provide housing and transportation while there?

I went to a big protest of the war in Iraq in DC in 2005. Somewhere between 100K-300K. You could see snipers on the White House roof. Hooked up with a huge mass of veterans and chanted anti-War and Anti-Bush slogans. There was a small Tea party counter protest. There were probably half a dozen helos overhead. I talked to some nice ladies from England at the Lincoln Memorial.

We drove all night to get there. When we stopped for Breakfast in Fredericksburg I realized we were at the same exit where I used to wash clothes when I was stationed at Quantico in '81-82.

Anti-Bush

It was this and not anti war. Please don't think for a moment that protest was anti war. How many anti war protests have we had in the past 8 years? We had "anti-war" protesters in front of our armory every day for about 6 years protesting. Every day. The day after the 2008 election, they were gone. Havent been back since and our unit has deployed again since. Is war not longer important? Are our servicemen and women's lives less valuable now who died in the past 8 years? No. Those protests had ZERO to do with the war and everything to do with who was calling the shots. That's just my opinion.

My dad has a bunch of cool old pics from his Vietnam protesting days. He has one of him burning his draft card. His number was so far down the list, he had little chance of it being called, so it was mostly symbolic. His mom was French Canadian though, and he already had plans in place to head to Canada and live with his aunt if his number had been called.

I've never protested.

My first wife gave Gov. Bill Clinton a chewing at a baseball game in Little Rock one afternoon. Since the inception of Boy's and Girl's State in Arkansas, he was the first governor not to attend either one of the sessions during the summer. Wife walked right up to him and started grilling him as to how come. Our son had been selected to attend and he along with other kids were disappointed he didn't show up.

His reason for not attending - he was out of town for Girl's State weekend and even though he was in town for Boy's State weekend he said he felt it wasn't right to show up for the boys.

Here's the kicker, he was out of town for the girls event because he was campaigning for President of the U.S.
